I'm the one that gets up during the night to take care of the baby. I usually don't mind, but some nights, after I've fed her, she has a hard time going back to sleep. When it's really bad I wake mydogfarted and ask him to deal with her. It's not uncommon for me to feed her, think she's down and crawl back into bed... Read More
Dear Darling Daughter,
Much to your dismay, shitting in the bathtub with Mommy will always mark the end bathtime for you. It will also mark the beginning of showertime for Mommy.
Much Love,
Mommy
PS I'm sorry you woke up screaming earlier, I wish there was more I could do to comfort you.
As someone who experienced this and so many other "what next?" baby raising moments, twice, I can guarantee that you'll look back at everything and have a good laugh.
Trillian combined two firsts this weekend.
First Trip to Manhattan and First Comic Con.
It went really well, she was FASCINATED by everything and everyone at the con. I carried her around in the Baby Bjorn for a few hours, then MDF had a turn with her. My hips were so bad I needed to do the swap. We got a few adorable onesies for... Read More
My new favorite thing to do to telemarketers - answer the phone, but instead of saying hello, I hold it up to the mouth of my screaming baby, wait a few minutes and then hang up. I only really do this to the companies that call multiple times in a week.
A close second, however, is this one:
dude, my mom gets really pissed at all the telemarketers the time... so every once in a while, she keeps saying hello until they swear at her. she has gotten like 3 people to say "fuck you" hahaha.
lol we have people call at work; insisting to speak to the individuals we support; and we ask them what it is about, and they refuse to speak to us, only our clients; so we put our clients on the phone; lets just say...they don't call back
Time to brush my teeth
Time to put on deodorant
Time to brush my hair
Time to change my clothes
Time to have a shower
Time to do the laundry
Time to make myself something to eat
Time to knit
With the cost of being the lowest bidder on a million dollar city or state job, various taxes, all the insurances involved, rising costs of materials, employee benefits, equipment and fuel costs, labor, and cost over runs. I'm looking at making 50k which is then taxed to death as a means of supporting millions of people who did nothing to earn it
Wash, my kitten, got his head stuck in the handles of a blockbuster bag this morning. And it freaked him out so bad he pissed himself while running into the basement.
Poor little guy is still quite freaked out from the incident, but he's back upstairs, if not his usual friendly, playful self. I'm hoping he comes and cuddles soon. I want to comfort him.... Read More
I know a lot of people are struggling with the hard economic times.
I've decided that it would be good to start a hand me down service for kids clothes. I've already received some hand me downs and passed some around to a couple of people who could use the help. They grow so fast in alot of her stuff she's out of two of... Read More
Laurie Berkner is poison. She will steal your soul. Do NOT listen to her. Try Lisa Loeb & Elizabeth Mitchell or Dan Zanes & Friends. Save yourself! Don't let the pod people win.
One of the things we really want to give to Trillian is an appreciation of music.
In the mornings, while I'm still groggy, we watch "Jack's Big Music Show" It's one of my favorite of the kids shows I've come across. And, while I realize that the plot is far beyond Trillian's ability to process information - as are all plots right now - she... Read More
Try the band Trout Fishing In America. The kids love them and I do too! They Might Be Giants is another good one. The trick is to find kids music that won't make you want to bang your head against the wall.
