I talked to Linz today. She's on the road home with her mom; still out west. She's a huge Elliott Smith fan. She's the person who first played him for me.
It was obvious she hadn't heard, she would have mentioned it if she had, but I didn't tell her. Let her enjoy her trip home. I have a history of being the first person to tell her bad news. 9/11, the Exploding Hearts, a bunch of other things.. I didn't want to add another one to that sorry list.

if i was a musician, especially one who had a little bit if a cult following, i'd be glad to make it to '04. sad deaths. i stopped by to ask if you have heard the newish album by the Books? good stuff, and a little reminiscent of Dntel...anyway, i remembered that you did that Postal Service interview and thought you might want to check them out.
