I am glad that you finally got your disability through the state. Disability is so hard to get these days. I have been on it since I was three. I was born with a birth defect called Cerebral Palsy, which has made me permanently disabled. Would you believe even though my disability is permanent and debilitating, my parents still had to go to court in our state to get my SSI benefits. Our government sucks in a lot of the ways. I laugh when people rant and rave about how the U,S. is the land of the free. I totally disagree with that. I have contemplated moving to Canada or England. LOL. I hope things get better for you now financially. I know how hard to can be to keep your head above water without a decent income. Disability is just barely enough. I am going to school to get a Masters degree so that I can get a decent job and get off of disability. With what they pay me, there is no way I can live the comfortable way that I want. Good luck with getting through to your private disability insurance company at work. I know that has to be a hassle.
