Books are more interesting than the movies. In all honesty she isn't the best writer and I waited a good two or three years before finally caving and actually reading one. They're more interesting on a cultural level (how to bring the gap between people who read and enjoy fantasy, and the speculative universe) and those who don't, also to examine J.K traditional gender politics and things like that, the re-examination of certain narrative structures that have been redefined by people who weren't even aware, or at least conscious of them. They're fun, the movies are considerably more enjoyable if you've read the books (and more frustrating).
