In the "Well, it never ends" Dept., I have apparently come down with shingles. So I am quite miserable.

The benefit for Cat's husband apparently netted close to $10,000. Good show!

I have a great deal of work to catch up on and no energy at all to do it. It is very depressing.

BENEFIT FOR CAT'S HUSBAND AARON:

There will be a benefit to help defray the costs of his cancer treatment June 12 at the Village Tap (Roscoe and Leavitt). All proceeds from the bar will go directly to the new couple.

In addition there will be a poker run (motorcycles, but some people are driving as well) that day. It will begin at Floyd's at...

Wow.

Wow.

Wow.

I just went to MoJo's on the corner to pick up a copy of the Reader. Came back and showed it to Aaron.

I don't know what to say. We both started crying.

Did you do that?

Typical SFA fuck up. Still, you've only one qualifier to get through - Celtic have now got two. Probably end up playing Liverpool or Everton now, too. whatever

Long weekend! We had the wedding "shower" this weekend, which is always kind of a headache. I hate crowds and gatherings, but this one was OK all around I guess, so it wasn't too bad.

But we all had a pretty good time in the end and fernando37 and his lovely wife, Maritza were able to join us as well, so that was fun. Also...

Wow, sounds like a busy weekend!

Wedding showers are such a pain in the butt. Then again, I don't really like being around large numbers of people or being the center of attention.

Just for the heck of it, I changed my favourites to reflect my faves of the last few months. What are your fave new gals?

This week promises to be busy: Champs League finals on Wednesday, parents in town Friday and then England-USA and the wedding shower (yes, we're already married; don't ask) on the weekend.

Also have a lot of work for "the company...

Just checked and realized that Utd are already in UEFA cup next season anyway since Scotland now gets two champions league places, so Celtic will be playing in CL - though they now face TWO qualifiers (with Gordon Strachan in charge probably) whatever

So you've stayed up, got a new manager, made the cup final and qualified for Europe .. not bad for a season that looked like it was spiralling out of control! smile

i used to collect stuff, but I just could afford it anymore.

Abernathy Plumming, the label I'm curating (inside noisy big-brother Terry Plumming, based in Chicago) is releasing a bippy-boopy comp of stuff at the Intonation Festival. Would you like to contribute to it? I'd like you to.

I'd personally love to hear stuff across the spectrum -- from grime, dub hip-hop etc. to dance to noise to wacko instrumental. We have broad tastes.

The deal is...

I have a question, do only unsigned/unrecorded acts get to participate?
soapdodger:
The bad news is, we threw it away - two goals in the last two minutes. frown

The good news is, if we play like that next week, you could win the cup. surreal

I have decided that the little piggy is my favourite icon. oink

Well, hmm. Kind of an up-and-down week. I am taking enough meds to kill a horse and I am feeling it. Some days are better than others; some days it is tough to get out of bed. I have been getting a lot of writing done, however, so that is making me feel better....

Oooo!!!

A week from Wednesday, I am making some sweet additions to my figure collections. I got everything set up now, but on the 25th the 2nd wave of First Appearance figures come out (Composite Superman, Dick Grayson in his first Nightwing costume, the Modern Batgirl). So lets shoot for a night after that, and I'll be around the better part of Memorial Day weekend too. Saturday will be the one day of that weekend that I will be busy (friend's wedding), but let me know if something there works for you.

Glad to hear your results turned out okay in the end - bit like Celtic v Hearts ! wink I think the worst is over now. Chill the champagne for Sunday!

Got results back early:

NO CANCER!!!! I have an elevated white count they have to keep track of, but it looks like it is just fibro.

Thank g-d. Now I can go back to breathing, sleeping, eating...

Thanks for all your support. I really, truly appreciate it.

Hey! I am very happy that you are healthy!!! From now on be extra careful, because cancer and dying sucks! Living, on the other hand rules, if the people you love, loves you back!
Join the Latina group, you are related to a latino by marriage, so JOIN!!
Another thing, Polonovia told me you had quite a big record collection, I am also a fellow music addict, have you seen/read "High fidelity"??? I see so much of myself in that book/movie! smile smile
Anyway, I hope you all like what I sended and if you need other music that might be hard to find there but easy here let me know, I also work at a record store here in the Island, so I have access to tons of stuff.
By the way, are you familiar with the soundtrack to the "Tango Feroz" movie, its a movie from Argentina and I am dying to get it but it is impossible to get here, that is all I can think regarding your offer. I will add you to my friends list, take care, bye, a big hug to you and Polo!!! smile smile smile

Thank you for all your kind words this week. I await the test results (which I should have on Monday) and I'll know more then. In the meantime, the new cocktail of meds they have me on seems to have me working a bit better, so cross your fingers that this remains the case!

Hope y'all have a good weekend. Root for October's Portsmouth...

I did, but it also sounds like there are other medical things going on as well, as I finally saw your Humbling moment. Where are you with those? Has that all ceased or are they still prevalent?

Ok, so here's the deal:

I went in to the doc's yesterday and they said that what I have may be blood or bone cancer. So, I await test results this next week.

Please cross yr fingers for me and send long-suffering and way over stressed wife Polonovia your love. She's having a hard time with this latest one, understandably. Me, I'm a bit numb....

Well, when you get better, you will have to come down here and work for a summer season. Or you could shell out the dough to come here. No time like the present. kiss Hell, bring the little lady. We have plenty of couples that work here!

*grin* That would be the beauty of oh say a 4 month stint down here. Not permanent and you can say you were here, and make a tad bit of money doing so. wink

Hope your day is bright.
