i am making a muffin vest for my girlfriend. it will be made of hundreds of tiny wax muffins. i made a mould. for tiny muffins. there will be much vestage with said muffins. it will be grand. it will be the daedalus and icarus muffin vest, though -- if she flies too close to the sun it'll melt muffin goo all over her boobs.

we got our ferret today! named her sirhan sirhan. she is adorable.

our stupid illegal puppy escaped into the apartment building when we were bringing the cage in though, and ran right in front of the security cameras. stupid dog. i don't think anyone saw though.

so today i was using the table saw to cut me some wood, and a basic safety rule completely slipped my mind. the blade ended up shooting a fair-sized chunk of pointy wood into my hip with great speed. i've got about an inch and half long gash now right over my hip bone. cool. this is why i prefer metal.

Unfortunately, no. I have no digicam frown
I 've only finished a handful of small pieces, all made from found objects. (Savannah's a rusty metal bonanza!)
I can't believe i just said 'bonanza'.......
Anyway, I'm in tech school at the moment to get welding certified so I can get some crappy body work or construction job. I figure that'll make me enough money so I can save up to get my own machines and some studio space.
Eventually I'd like to own a small business doing commission/fine art only. smile

I went to $CAD for three years and did jewelry for two of them. It was ok, but silver's not really my thing. (melts too easily)

I did get to take a bronze foundry class, that kicked ass!
Bronze melts at a much lower temp that steel, so you can build your own foundry for a few hundred dollars.

I havn't been able to do any blacksmithing yet, but i plan to eventually at least try every sort of metalworking i can find.

I'll post pics if I can borrow someone's camera.
