So I have a sister. Actually I have more than one, but tonight I'll just talk about the one. She's 5 years older than I am and is closest to me in age of the Itburns brood. She and I have had a love/hate, hate/hate, tolerate, love relationship over the years. She's sort of a freak, but that's always been a good thing because I...

So my parents came and stayed with me for the holiday weekend, and as you may or may not be aware such encounters are always rather fraught. As such I planned as many "events" as possible. The schedule read as follows:

Friday: Lunch, King Tut exhibit at the Field Museum, drinks and dinner at NOMI.
Saturday: Stone tile shopping at Merchandise Mart, four hour tree...

I finally figured out how to resize pictures and put 20 of my shots from Ireland in my pic folder. I still don't know how to put pictures in the blog, so those of you who thought I was over my Ludite tendencies are mistaken.
The picture of me with the painting was taken in the National Gallery. The guy is the brother of my...

Okay. So, in looking at your pics, I think they're still too big for posting in a journal. The widest they can be and still fit in your journal is 500 pixels.

However, here's how to do it, once they're the right size.

Go into your Pics folder. Click on the pic you want to insert into your journal. It should open in a new window.

Once you've got it open in a new window, right-click on the picture itself.

If you're using Internet Explorer, there should be an option in the menu that opens called Properties. Click on Properties and a new window opens. There is an Address (URL) given...Copy that Address.

Now, in your journal, click on the Insert Image link under the text box. Paste the Address you just copied into the dialog box that opened. Click ok.

Repeat that process for every other pic you want to insert. biggrin

If you're not using Internet Explorer, lemme know, and I'll give you revised directions.

Monkey couldn't reach it, either, and he's taller than me. So there! tongue

They tell me that I'm still alive, so I figure I should update. Events in Itburns Land are as follows:
1) I obtained a reversal in the trial I lost so we are going to do it over. That's good news.
2) I am working a crazy amount of hours- even by my standards. This is bad news and lead directly to:
3) I am...

The prodigal son has returned. Sorry I haven't been here in a month, but I came back from Ireland and started a trial two days later. Jury came in this morning and I lost. Badly. A lot of $$$$. Oh well, it's part of the job. But I haven't lost in over 3 years and 12 trials, so I guess I was feeling unbeatable. Life...

Gretings from Ireland. I got here last Friday. Friday through Wednesday we stayed at Ashford Castle in Cong, Mayo. Since then we've been at the Merrion Court Hotel in Dublin. We're here through the 5th. AMAZING is the only word I have for it. I promise my first photo update ever in the near future.
Hope everyone is well.

Sorry I've not updated in a week. We can either say I was practicing for vacation or that I thought I broke my lap top and was too stupid to realize I'd unclipped the battery. Let's go with the first one for the sake of my delicate ego tongue

It can never get too big, imo. The more the merrier, I say. The place has a great spirit. I've met a lot of wonderful people... burners, if you will. Going to a HUGE theme camp benefit tomorrow night at a 3-story loft on the south side. Last year was my first year, so I really have nothing to compare my experience against. I will tell you it was instrumental in changing the course of my life since I got home. For me, it's a huge catharsis... a touchstone for change.

Check out my website for links to my writing. http://lalindaloca.com The wrestler piece is one I did for the Reader. I also write for MrSkin on a semi-regular basis.

Did you say toxic tort? What a great band name! biggrin
