You haven't looked at me that way in years
You dreamed me up and left me here
How long was I dreaming for?
What was it you wanted me for?

You haven't looked at me that way in years
Your watch has stopped and the pond is clear
Someone turn the lights back on
I'll love you til all time is gone

You haven't looked...

FLESH THEORY

Morning.
My lips wade on a shoulder blade
as I hook an arm around and seize
a breast n press
something hard against her backside. It
presses back. The eyes fall shut
in a swoon. And the whole thing's
awfully pleasing, although ineffably so,
for this is not the language
of the id; here I am enthralled
by the dialogue of bodies.
Is...

Cool! It didin't get nicked! Show us yer thumb! biggrin Can you take a picture of the back for me? I want to see what it looks like all stamped - it's this long-time fetish I have for rubber stamps on mail whatever

Serendipity doesn't sound right - isn't that more about discovering goodness in life? My feeling is that the progs in question are more about some mysterious third party purposefully coming to and showing people the good in things. A slight, but important, difference. I agree with 'hope', though. Confidence in life. Faith. Yes.

I like this poem very very much.

..."for this is not the language of the id..."

I like.

Where have I been? Man, I'm not so damn sure my damn self. Easy answer... heh... "easy".... relationship struggles and bliss. A new long-distance thing, and it's so very sweet, and so very difficult. It's driving me crazy in good and bad ways both. Been focusing all of my time and energy on that, plus doing some psychological house cleaning... old shit from way back surfacing. Dealing with that. And etc.

But I'm here. And back in the swing, I reckon.

Glad you liked the poem and the art. Thanks! Can't wait to see those pictures realized. Those are digital sketches made from my own photos of textures. Look just like my paintings, though. You get a real good idea of what I do from looking at them.

Bouville looks great. Really nice issue. Did I tell you that already. my brain has been so shot-out.

Hey... you think it would be a okay if I promoted the new Bouville on the "Working Artists" and "Artists" boards? I could use the promotion, and you might get some nice traffic. "Working Artists" is a decent, diverse group, but "Artists" is kind of stuck in this glorification of a conception of a Punk/Goth wonderland in their tastes , for the most part. But it might be worth a shot.

Wanted to run it up the flagpole, and see who salutes...but I wanted to check it out with you first. So let me know what you think...

piece out,

b.

I was just going to say that it seems like you're in a seed phase; that soon you can expect the best poems you've ever written to sprout and blossom. But after reading the one you just posted, it looks like I don't have to, and that I was right. Excellent.

two new poems.

one in progress:

SPANISH-CANADIAN

And then there was
the girl who wanted me to
sing for her in Spanish
on her birthday, as I'd
spontaneated once before
in what must have seemed
a romantic gesture
when in fact I only needed
something to occupy my
hands and mouth once
our stormy little folly
had evaporated fully
in the daylight

For reasons I...

Thankyouthankyouthankyou for the support against nipple piercing! Most folk either like it or are indifferent; I hate it with a passion. Just seems like the last thing you should do to a nipple is put a piece of metal through it. It's like finding a fly in your soup.

Good news about the Bouville.

Aspasia does great photography.

I don't really know how to answer those questions ma man; I can't relate to them. But I sense you are right to a degree. There's a flipside to everything I said, and I'm going to write it down next entry.

No harm in asking her. I'll ask, ok?

Consider the controversy en route.

By the way - what's up with the half-formed hoolet on Bouville where 'Honeymoon' should be? surreal

I agree!

Palindromes were my first words-toys. I've never really understood their creation, but they are wonderful friends.

Lines For The Fortune Cookies

I think you're wonderful and so does everyone else.

Just as Jackie Kennedy has a baby boy, so will youeven bigger.

You will meet a tall beautiful blonde stranger, and you will not say hello.

You will take a long trip and you will be very happy, though alone.

You will marry the first person who tells you your eyes...

yeah man, it's an awfully esoteric business. though i'm sure if you tell a poet "i can't relate to your writing", they will argue that you just don't understand it, and that's not their problem. and so on.

On the infrequent occasions that I write poetry I've always written for me. I don't care if it's accessible (or even intelligible) to other folk, and I'm more than quick to tell them so.

That doesn't stop me from touting it like the bloated prize boar at a three dollar country fair. smile

The Quiet World

In an effort to get people to look
into each other's eyes more,
the government has decided to allot
each person exactly one hundred
and sixty-seven words, per day.

When the phone rings, I put it
to my ear without saying hello.
In the restaurant I point
at chicken noodle soup. I am
adjusting well to the new way.

Late at night,...

CASTING CALL!

well, not really. more of a shot in the dark. i'm hoping to poach a photographer for Rain Over Bouville. my friend Lucy Wren has contributed in the past but these days her creativity is somewhat consumed by her studies, and i get tired of nagging her for new material when she has real work to worry about.

the Spring Post and...

the nieghbors are faces i pass occasionally as i get in my car to leave the maddening confines of our apartment, though their kids are more than that (sometimes, however, i must admit, i cross my fingers in hopes of escaping the parking lot unnoticed). i liked your comment...i also think that sometimes agreeing to disagree is the way to go....a jewel to remember when in a long term relationship, as well.

Have you ever looked at Reagan's photos? I think you should seriously consider asking her to contribute, though I don't know if she'd even reply (she's quite self-effacing). Her photos are consistently remarkable and charasmatic in terms of their colour, composition, and just sheer verve. I luv em.
