Well this good news blows that last good news out of the water! I am going to be presenting not one but TWO research papers at NCUR )the national conference for undergraduate research.) It is the most competitive and most recognized undergraduate research symposium in the nation (possibly the world). It's pretty incredible that I made it in, I beat out 3500 other applications. biggrin as...

Has anyone bought the new SG book "Hard Girls Soft Light"? I keep having people bug me about whether I'm in it or not. Will be giving lots of smooches to the first person to tell me if I'm in it or not.

I'm waiting to buy it in person. If by chance I find out you're in it I will definitely let you know.
kelpie_:
I certainly hope you're in it!

Give it a try. You will find it very educational.

Take care. I would venture to say that most of the people in prison are not repeat offenders but at the same time there's some crazies.

YAY! I'm finally home. Feel like a weight has been lifted and the clouds have parted. Feels so good to be home. Deff going to be hitting the ground running this quarter. I'm taking the last of the general biology classes, biology of women and ceramics. Should have plenty of time so sit in on chem classes and work on scholarship applications.

In sexier news...

how is it that the rudest people are the one's with the most lovers and the most friends? I don't get .

I have no idea. It makes me sad though.
78walk:
I think there is a deep, usually subconscious human tendency to see rudeness and a lack of concern for others as a sign of strength. I've never been able to grasp the logic, but getting away with being an asshole does seem to make people more desirable to their fellow humans.

Going to be applying for scholarships for the rest of the break. Any advice on where to start or good webpages to take a look at? kiss

louisiana:
I looked in unexpected places for scholarships and found them. I got one from Lily Drug Corp (been taking their meds for a good decade or so), another from DAR, (I found a family member who I could link in from), and another from an organization that gives scholarships to Iroquois people.
surreal______:
What kind of degree are you going for? I know there are a lot of specific scholarships based upon what kind of degree you're going for. Like nursing they have a ton of full-rides from hospitals (I know, I'm going into nursing lol!)

survived the worst christmas. Long story short I was told to never give my opinion again or I would be risking getting cut off from my parents.

It's interesting how people can say that they love you, and maybe even believe it, but they have no concept or who you really are. They are so far outside of understanding who I am that they would...

Awesome grades! smile
78walk:
Congrat's on the grades, sorry about the family. It's sad that so many people go through life trying to live within their own alternate reality. It's especially sad when parents are incapable of seeing how awesome and special their child is, and instead focus on ways in which the child doesn't fit their self-obsessed, predetermined notion of who they ought to be.

made it to SC in tact, we'll have to see how long my sanity can handle my family. they are the most sexist, racist, and homophobic ppl i have ever encountered. i feel like its bullshit that i have to be the one to keep my mouth shut. I guess this trip will educate me on my bullshit tolerance.

in other news i hear that...

Flying out to SC tomorrow. Love flying, just don't like the stress and the airlines trying to bleed me dry. I'm opting for the pat down because I like my DNA in tact, thank you very much. Also going taking only a carry on then borrowing clothes from the fam, or shopping at thrift stores. would rather spend my 60 bucks that way kiss

So good...

a) Fly safe, have fun!

b) I hate granny pannies.
mkayal:
Nice work on the worms. If you discovered a new species, do you get to name them?

I've been distracted from the granny lingerie with the bedrooms, hotel rooms, and generally common backgrounds.
