Well the reason I asked is that if you can control the shutter speed or the aperture, you can control what is in focus in your picture.

It works like this, the smaller the hole that lets light through (aperture) the larger the depth of field (the amount of stuff from you through infinity that will be in focus, The bigger the hole the less that will be in focus (smaller depth of field).

This is helpful, because when you are taking a picture of a model who is in front of something kind of busy, like when your model was sitting on the porch, it helps to draw the focus to the model if the background is a little blurry.

Having said all that, you can accomplish the same thing in photoshop by duplicating the layer the picture is on, erasing everything but the background, and then putting a blur effect on it. It is way easier to do in camera though, and it is an important skill to learn, but since you don't have access to a camera that has that option, if you have access to photoshop, you should experiment with that technique. Then you'll at least be able to see what happens when the background is blurred.

Hi miss.
I think your set is too static (is it a self shot ?) and I think you need a theme. But you're nice ! Maybe you could try in an other place with a better photographer. Good luck anyway ! smile

I just finished sunbmitting my self-shot set! It was very hard and it was very fun and it was time-consuming. It was def. a learning experience. All in all it was great and I look so hot in my pics. I'll let everyone know when I hear something.
