I'm on a train in Philly. Back in town for 24 hours for a funeral. A friend from high school died of cancer last week.

Often, when I listen to music...I hear wonderful lyrics, and I think "that would make a great facebook status".

But I don't do it because that feels too "emo"...it's like I'm stuck between wanting to express my emotion, wanting to...

Home again, home again.

Kind of nice to be back....kinda. Seattle's an awesome city. I really had a great time. Worked hard, of course, but it all paid off. Met some cool people, ate some good food, and drank a lot of good coffee and beer.

And now...time to find a tour. I'd like to tour with Dresden Dolls (or just Amanda Palmer) I think...

It was like spring yesterday! It was gorgeous and I couldn't believe it was that close to 50 degrees...practically tropical.smile

Seattle's a pretty cool town.

Haven't been able to seen very much in the past 10 days I've been here...but the walk between the hotel and the theater is lovely!

And talk about good coffee...and such a selection!

It is a bit on the cloudy side, weather-wise, though. Ironic - this show has taken me to San Diego and Seattle in the past 6 months...one...

You're not missing too much in Queens, man.

How's everything going with the show? I saw Equus and enjoyed it very much (for the right reasons, I'll have you know).wink

Never been to Seattle. I think I'd like it though. Maybe I should take an American road trip one of these days. smile

Well, I should be packing. SHOULD be packing. Obviously, I am not.

I'm really excited about spending some time in Seattle...not that I'll have much in the way of time off. It's the best and worst part of my work - travel to all kinds of fun, interesting places...and never have the time to explore them.

Ah well.

It's three weeks, maybe I can find...

Beware of the rain - it's insidious. Don't carry an umbrella - you'll stand out as a tourist. Give a tribute to the bronze pig at Pike Place. Go to Espresso Vivace on Broadway on Capitol Hill - true science in espresso making. Try to catch a local show anywhere just to experience the Seattle music scene. Read The Stranger (the alt. newspaper) every week. Visit Cafe Besalu on 24th Ave. in Ballard, and get a brioche and the housemade Chai. These are my best tips. Enjoy your trip. Let me know how it goes.

It was great to meet everyone last night! Cool little bar, great people, and a nice slice of pizza to round out the evening.

Who cares that Google maps told me to go to Hudson when it was on Ave A...I made it eventually.

Anyways, best of luck to AsterLee I'm glad I got to buy her a drink! And I'm glad I finally met...

Man, when I look back on it, 2008 ranks up there as being a pretty shitty year. Things were great through...say...mid-June.

I rephrase. Shitty second half of the year. I won't type out details as no one wants to read that. This year involved a lot of work with people I don't particularly enjoy. And, considering how much theater pays, it's dumb to keep doing...

tired. sleepy.

I bought a new comforter ("duvet"!) the other day...and now it's like I'm sleeping in a swanky hotel room every night. Rock on.

I think this is what people call "the good life", no? biggrin

Once Again, it's been too long.

Started working on HAIR today, which will hopefully be opening on Broadway in early March....

Nothing too exciting to look forward too until early January when I fly to Seattle for 3 weeks.

What the fuck else to write??

lame.

It's been a crazy 6 weeks since I last wrote anything...

I've moved to Astoria since the whole bed-bug fiasco, which, by the way, totally sucked.

I got my first Broadway show, I'll be assisting on HAIR which will go up in February. Thank god, I need the money.

Just trying to settle back into a normal life. Well, as normal as it ever is...

Oof. Talk about a rough return to the city.

My apt was broken into while I was in San Diego. 3 nights after discovering the break-in...I found a bed bug in my bed.

Rock.

OK, I lied, I'm ready to go back to San Diego now...
