Don't be so hard on yourself you are beautiful for sure. Anyways caterpillars are cooler than butterflies, so perhaps he just wanted to be remembered that way. I was kinda sad when my giant stick insects died, it's easy to get attached to creatures you are taking care of whatever they look like.
