Ok...I half caved...

I bought a new gun, but only half the price of the AK. I bought a Ruger 10/22 and decided to give my Marlin model 60 to Christine. She actually likes the idea and wants to learn to shoot it.

So after thinking, debating and researching, I think I am going to pass on the AK-74 and go for an SKS.
They're cheaper, quite reliable and more accurate.
It also uses a round that has more oomph to it. (Stopping power).

It should also leave me some money when it's all said and done.

You know what pisses me off?

CT legally allows open carry of a pistol if you have a valid permit (which I do)...
but town laws prohibit it.
So legally...STATE law says I can carry my pistol strapped to my side...but because my local law enforcement can nail me for "breach of peace"...I could lose my gun and permit.
