I keep tabs on most of my old highschool friends.
Many of them were 1-3 grades below me, meaning they graduated 2001-2004.
I keep reading about many of them graduating college this year, and even a few getting married (including my first girlfriend) and it depresses the shit out of me.
I've been out of school for 6 years...
and I am wasting my intelligence...

To start, if you plan on going to see "An American Haunting"...DON'T! It's not worth the $8.50. It's not worth the cost of a matinee either.
If you plan on seeing it anyway, don't read the spoiler below.

If I wanted to see creaky floorboards and doors opening on their own, I would have gone to work! Working third shift at...

So I'm on Myspace, reading a post where a person complains that having pets is unfair to the animal.
This got me thinking...is it truly unfair to own a pet?

In the wild, animals spend their time worrying about a few things:
Food, shelter, procreation and survival.

Food is never really a guarentee...even if said animal is in an area where their food source is...

I agree with you. It's not just for OUR enjoyment. You can tell when a pet is happy.

I really appreciate your suggestion to get the Nalgene bottle. I went to a local outdoors/camping place today and picked up a 16oz. bottle, and a keychain carabiner (blue, my favorite color) to hook it onto my belt loop. I tested it out today when I walked to the strip mall to get dinner. I'm a little worried that the stress of the bottle on the belt loop might one day pull it off (or someone might grab the bottle and rip it off), but it seems to be working well so far. It's also encouraging me to drink more water, which is always good. Very cool. Thanks again. smile

So I get to work, and there's 5 people "waiting for me".
Apparently the Northwestern Connecticut Paranormal Research Society came to check the Inn out, and they were told that I was the guy to talk to about spooky stuff.
(I'm big into that stuff AND I work 3rd shift, so I guess I am the guy to talk to. Haha.)

They are coming back...

Not much to report today. Woke up, played two games of Mario party with the crew, ordered some pizza, went to work.
No notes from the boss.
About to watch "LOTR: Return of the King" to kill some time...
and I'm in a really good mood.
The more I talk to Mandy, the more the "it's not going to work...give up now...blah blah blah" voices...

My brain never leaves me alone.
Now that I'm not single, all my insecurities come rushing at me...
except for some odd reason...they're not bothering me as much as they used to.
Generally I'd get all unsure and depressed and panicky...
but instead...I hear these insecure thoughts in my mind...and dismiss them as quickly as I have them.
That's new for me...
but I'm not...

Ohh insecurities. Mr. Insecurity and I are well acquainted and speak on an hourly basis. I hope you're able to keep dismissing them. When you figure out HOW you're doing that, let me know so I can start doing the same.

So I am no longer single!
I am dating a girl I have been best friends with for quite some time now. Her name is Mandy. I'm sure I've mentioned her in a few entries.

I've always had a bit of a crush on her...
and I tried asking her out once and she told me she "didn't see me that way"...so I assumed I...

Mood is a little bit better, but still pretty rotten.
I think it's because it's been cold and rainy all week.
Hopefully this weekend will be better.
My buddy Todd is coming to our party Saturday night. I haven't seen him in a while. He just recently got dumped after two years...so he's in rough shape. He wants to just get drunk and have fun......

Ugh...
I'm in one of my moods tonight...where everything sucks.

The building we live in was bought, so there is a good chance I may need to find a new place come the end of June.
Which means no more incredibly cheap apartment.
Fucking sucks.
Toss in the fact that I have no money, and we have a recipe for...living with my mom again.
I...

I just spent the past half hour flirting with a really cute guest at the hotel.
Not only was she cute and my age, but she is also a Neuro-surgeon.
Smart girls are teh sex!

I put my rack together today. Wired up all the heat tape and hooked up the thermostat. It's going to take some tweaking to make temps perfect, but it's holding...

It hit me today that I have some serious issues that I need to address.

I woke up, and was told that the big blue wrecking ball with legs was talking shit about everyone in the apartment because of the actions of Saturday night.
I looked Jamar square in the face and told him I didn't fucking care.
OH NO...a 16 year old girl is...

I'm so with you, dude. I'm in the same mind-set now. I want to go back to school. I haven't any money right now, but I'm slowly paying off credit card debt and next winter/spring, I'm going to start applying for loans and grants and hopefully be enrolled in a master's program by Fall 2007. Hurrah for doing something with our lives!! smile

Figure out what makes you happy, figure out a way that what makes you happy also makes you money, and pursue it. It's the only way to live life.

Today Mandy and I went to the art museum in Hartford. She had to go for a school project.
It was pretty cool.
We saw a mummy...and it creeped me out.
Then we went back to the apartment, and everyone was cleaning, so we joined in.
The apartment looks AWESOME!

I now have access to the back porch because we cleaned the mountain of garbage...

Even when I was a sixteen year old girl I hated girls like this. *sighs* Sorry you had a crappy night... sounds like you need some more mature roomates.

Dude, don't worry about letting out the mean things. It's better to rant about it in a journal than act on it in life.
