my dad is an art snob, so he made sure i saw frazetta before i ever saw any of his imitators. he wanted me to understand how truly amazing he was, and i'm thankful for that. i tried showing some frazetta art to my roommate this morning when i heard the news, and he just shrugged and said "so? it looks like every other fantasy artist out there." what a shame.

i seem to be the only one that thought observe and report was kinda funny, but then again i'm a huge taxi driver fan so all the weird little in-jokes were hilarious. to me, at least. and i LOVE jody hill, and this wasn't as funny as eastbound and down or foot fist way, but still. pretty rad.

as for my name, it's taken from a character in freakangels. i'm a HUGE comic geek so i thought my name needed to reflect that somehow. i very nearly went with strel but sirkka just seemed a better match. on non-comics names, i've considered cuddy, effy, and stockton, but this is the one i always come back to.
