Ohh advice... Ok here goes. If you are still friends with your X and respect his friendship that leave his friend and find someone else. There is a ton of guys out there anyway. I think your x is just kind of jealous that you are so attracted to his friend. I would be. If you are friends with your x don't do it. If you don't mind if he hates you then go for it. Though, I don't know if I would want to ruin anyone's friendship to get some booty. Is it going to be more than just booty? I guess there are a lot of factors that only you really know so the decision would really be up to you. If I were you I would just take some time to really think about it before you decide.

I was in the same situation once, but I don't think I'd say the guys were BEST friends, just good friends. My ex said it was okay, whatever. I left out the part where they were in a band together. So one day the new guy brought me with to band practice and my ex basically started crying and left. He later on told the other guy in the band that "it was only awkward because my new guy and I were all over each other" ...when we weren't. We only even looked at each other when he wasn't in the room. It didn't end up working out, but for what it's worth, the guys were still friends after. I stopped talking to them both.
My current boyfriend's best friend recently was hanging out with my bf's ex and my boyfriend was fine with it, because he doesn't have feelings for his ex at all, lucky for his friend though, he came to his senses and got away from that.
Personaly, I would think it would be worth it if there were feelings there besides lust. But I wouldn't be willing to come between best friends just for sex. Unless of course you could get the best friend alone sometime when the ex doesn't know you're hanging out
