As one who's had a lot of experience in the grunt tech support side of life (that was the bulk of my last job!) and someone who's witnessed the hiring of same, it may or may not say much about your experience level but it says a whole lot about your more important job-related qualities.
Who the hell starts out in the smart jobs? That's a very rare thing. Tech support is far and away the best place in the tech industry for moving up in the world and learning lots of things if you're so inclined. I've seen more people move up to the most awesome jobs from TS than anywhere.
So I say it sounds like Hot Shit is a title well warranted
