A situation...

'You have caused nothing but problems for me, you know that?' Brick said. He grimaced and squeezed down tighter on Shast's arm.

'Me? Cause you problems? Who's the one hanging in open space above a two-storey drop.'

'Three storey.'

'What?' Shast looked down. 'When did the Cermudgens add an extra level to the their house?'

'They didn't. We're on the South side of...

It's just a room... full of doors? ...

Shast burst through the door, and waited for Brick to stumble in after him before slamming it shut and throwing his shoulder against it. There was a thud, the distinctive one made by a meaty body colliding with door. It shook, vibrating in the frame, but remained closed.

'Quick!' Shast snapped as another meaty thud shook the...

That fateful day...

Screams filled the air. The sounds of the dying rising above the clatter of sword on sword, and shield upon shield. Men ascended to the heights above borne to the heavens by the angels of light and darkness their screams the summoning. Men stood shoulder to shoulder, with friends, with brothers, and with fathers against the onslaught of doom. Wave after wave...

Might as well write something a little different... Oooo excellent, there's a bitching category for these blogs. SG really has everything...

I seem to be prone to ambushes lately. Now, what these ambushes entail is generally someone suggesting we do something. Something usually pedestrian like see a film, and then low and behold... *thunk the person's significant other is inserted into the equation as well....

Ouch. I've been in that situation many times and I hate it. Plus, what can you really do or say? There are, however, the times when said couple doesn't act couple-y and actually makes me feel part of a group rather than a third wheel, but that's rare.
garrattj:
Yeah, it's one of those wonderfully awkward situations. Oh well, if anything I can just watch the film and ignore them. Not like they'll matter in the master plan a month from now.

One of those days...

It was pain. Dirk was pretty sure about that. It had all the necessary qualities that marked it out as something caused by physical hurt, in his case a boot to the gut. He rolled away, scrambling against on the rough hewn oak floor, and wished the barkeep had had time to sand it.

'Wh're you goin' Dirk?' Tommy Bisetti asked....

Thought I would try something different today. Its an attempt to describe a picture my friend Stef had sent to me. All the credit for the amazing image goes to Chris Hecker for his stunning work. (http://features.cgsociety.org/newgallerycrits/g36/199836/199836_1243541038_large.jpg)

The sun rose, its brilliant, blinding light streaming through the massive structure. Clouds, nothing more than errant wisps of white amongst the rapidly changing hues danced amongst the...

Unashamed...

The speaker on the wall crackled to life, filling the silence of the room with its tinny warble. 'Disrobe,' it said, the voice lost in the mass of wires and tubes.

Danza shivered as she reached up and untied the rough woollen robe she had been given, with a marked fluidity she let it slide down her naked body and pool to pool at...

Effendi...

The axe sang as it reaped the souls of men and scythed them low. Blood flowed like a river quenching the parched land with a torrent of crimson. Men screamed and died as they died pressed together shoulder to shoulder. Few could stand against such an onslaught for long.

Garuff stood like the reaper the sinister black axe sowing death and destruction around him...

Just a little trip...

The lights flickered, both on the consoles and overhead, as a tremor shook the ship.

'What was that?' Angela asked. 'Why did the lights just flicker?'

'Wha - what was what?' Joseph asked as he idly toggled switches on the console, and Angela assumed adjusted course.

'The lights, they - they flickered.'

Joseph turned around his seat and stared at her...

If you go out in the woods today...

Grimhir charged toward the line of armoured warriors. The point of his spear danced back and forth jugging from man to man as he settled on a target. The line of men stood resolute, shoulder to shoulder, their shields held close together. With a bellowing cry he knocked the closest shield aside and drove the point of...

The Talls

The Talls were always so full of sound. Creeper had known it always to be so, since Mother had shown him what to eat and what not to eat, where to sleep and where not to sleep, and on. The Talls were always full of smells too. Usually the smells revealed good things to eat, or bad things to be avoided. He'd lived...
