for the past three weeks i have been moping around feeling sorry for myself. even though I've been sitting on my ass for an extended period of time, I've also been somewhat productive. in the past three weeks i've taken the GRE's, sent out - oh - about 50 or so job applications, and have gone on 2 interviews for positions i really wanted but...

You know I felt the same thing after my first two years in college and I ended up joining the navy. Ya, that was a genious move! Well, if I lived by Berkley I'd buy ya a cup of coffee and let you be fuch-the-world all you want.
Not to be mean but I'm getting sick of my current circle of local friends except for one because they all seem to think I just want to talk about how they all hate my ex-wife. Whatever.

Hey, at least you have a boyfriend right? biggrin

i graduated college this past May. i don't know what i'm doing or where i'm going. it seemed like i was the only one in my major who didn't know exactly what they were doing to further their career as soon as they left college. i feel like a bum, but i pay my bills on time, i didn't move back home, and i'm not starving....yet. i suppose everyone just needs time. life doesn't go at our pace. we have to follow it. so, i'm just taking a lot of deep breaths and keep on going, hoping i will find my way.

good luck with the job, and i guess life, search.

totally fired. now unemployed. damnit. it's my fault. but now what?

...

Edited to say - it's now 11/24, my birthday, and I guess that means I'm 22 years old. I've been unemployed for a good two days... which has meant I've watched more Vh1 than I can handle.

I now know Shakira's life story, that N'Sync made a really cheesy Christmas video once upon...

I haven't had a photo taken of me in a while. So when a local photographer contacted me TFP on my old onemodelplace profile, I said- what the heck- i need some new photos of me anyway. So today, I have a photoshoot. This should be fun. I'm meeting the guy in the city at 2:30. So if I disappear y'all can tell the po-lice...

I took a look through your pics and I took the liberty of converting a couple of the colour images into B&W.

I have foun it hard to get good tonal ranges when converting colour, but I have had some nice results with Google's free program Picasa. This is as good or better than the Photoshop filters I am testing, which are set to match films like Ilford FP4.

I like lustrous tones and sometimes quite high contrast images. I hope you like these conversions.

The second one from top is my favourite.

it is amazing how life seems to dissappear once one has gotten through the first 21 years. In 12 days, I will be 22 years old. Now, 21 didn't feel different than any other year- but 22 makes me sound like some sort an adult. I don't know how I feel about that.

Living in Berkeley is really special sometimes. My favorite activity as of...

ah, yes, i love biking too. i started about a year ago.. i love longer rides, though i don't have time for them anymore. but commuting - every sense full of the world.

i did go to grad school. i live in pittsburgh now. i got fully funded in a phd program. i read for a living for the next six years. in a lot of ways, it's heaven. i don't know how i got this lucky.

i tend to bitch about my current internship too much. reasoning: underpaid, underappreciated, not quite overworked but given work a third grader could complete. so i'm looking elsewhere, for a more intellectually stimulating position. at least one that allows for some responsibility. i understand that i've proved myself untrustworthy at my current organization, fine, but when they treat me like a 2 year old i...

apply, for another job! liking what you do with your day is so incredibly important. unless you really want to do marketing, in which case it's probably a good idea to work you way up, finding a job where you enjoy what you do will make you all-around happier.

So I'm all about this national writing month thing. I've always wanted to write a novel, but have barely made it to four paragraphs each time I've tried. Maybe with a set deadline I can accomplish writing something in full. It doesn't have to be good, it just needs to be done.

Um... so far I have two paragraphs. The odds of my success are...

Nanowrimo is a blast. It also sucks hardcore. But it's a way to kickstart yourself into doing something you don't think you can do. Look at their boards for write-ins in Berkeley and rock your novel.
Also, welcome to the Bay Area.
And if it's any consolation, my nano is currently 15 words long. So what am I doing here? Jeesh.

i'm back. i spent my $18 for 3 months. partially due to the fact that my entire hard drive had been wiped (thanks best buy) of all images and i want some photos back. they're saved on sg. partially because mei's sushi set had been up for a while and i was too curious to not see it eventually. partially because two months ago i...

I recently graduated college and am in the process of trying to -- find myself-- if you want to call it that. I'm really looking for a career that will fullfill me- one that will truely make me excited about living the rest of my life. However, right now I feel like I'm going to get trapped in the pr/marketing field, which is something I'm...

Everything takes time. To expect to find your dream job right out of college seems just a lil unrealistic to me.
What seems like the best path for you to me? Take the marketing job...do theater as a hobby. Even as a hobby that still builds experance. then should the option to direct like you want appears, then you can retire for the marketing.

Thanks for the Holiday wishes! Same to you.

Home is Davenport, Iowa. UGH it's going to be cold. I have a long trek ahead of me.

It's only been two weeks since starting this 50-hour work week taste of the 'real world' and already I am P-O-O-P-E-D. I really like my jobs, I do-- but still, this working 8 to 11 hours a day is getting to me. Already.

So I work at this really awesome theatre company doing PR stuff and then, seperately, sell jewelery part time. I used to...

Hey, sorry about earlier today on AOL. I was having another one of my "mentally challenged moments." and about the time I realized who I was talking to, my internet connection went dead.

Anyway, have a great holiday weekend. I'll give the Northeast your love.

By the way, I just noticed you posted something about seeing a show at Studio. Which one did you see, and did you enjoy it? smile

less than an hour to graduation day. which means if you're reading this, i've probably woken up and am frantically getting ready for graduation or have already graduated. Although I am graduating tomorrow, I still have to:

pack.
pack pack pack.
sell bed!(!)!(!)
write 5 papers.
fix graphic for internship
move move move.
the end.
