She has the ability to separate lust from that other four-letter "L"-word, and instinctively puts up walls to guard her from getting hurt. Inspired by the subtleties of young romance, she is drawn to the idea of love, drawn to those first meetings of innocent attraction, reading each others skin as text, each gesture, the wink of an eye, a sudden draw back only an...

Who's frightened?
My favorite nonfiction book about love is "The Ethical Slut."
Is it really so bad to write down every feeling? I don't, but I never kept a journal/blog/diary 'til I joined SG. I guess there are things that are only for you to know.

for love or for money.

hazel has recently graduated from college with a degree in theater. at the time she thought she wanted to be either an arts reporter or theater director.

after trying to go to the marketing/pr route for the arts, she realized she wanted to do something a...

I'm back from SG hiatus, couldn't renew my membership until recently for some stupid reason.

Dreams are dreams because they are unreachable and intangible. If you could reach them they would be goals. What is your Goal in life? Which option would bering you closer to that Goal?

Okay... the general consensus seems to be that you take the risk and go for the directing position. Normally I try not to go with the crowd too much on principal. However, I like the idea of you doing something that you are passionate about as opposed to something that only offers financial security. I also like the idea of you trying to balance both,. however I understand that sometimes that's just not possible. Honestly, right now if I could stop working and just focus on college I would in a heartbeat even if it meant being poor. However, that's not an option for me. You get that option, well minus the college and add directing, and I say take it!
Good luck babe! kiss

I know it's not very punk of me, but I like to sing showtunes.

ps. I need to find people to play poker with. For pennies because come on now, I'm poor. But I think I'm pretty good at the game.

Half of my room is clean. The bookshelf is organized with all of the books I've been meaning to read. My dresser top is now clear of papers. The majority of papers once laying around my floor are now organized neatly in file folders in a hanging folder plastic box. Let's not talk about the other half of the room,...

Tidiness is a form of scizophrenia in my opinion... no one should be too organized... but then, the shit i create I'm clearly a psychopath... so maybe i shouldn't judge...

But i do have a series of rants regarding objectifications... so maybe i can be all preachy about that...

On the other hand, such unfaltering beliefs can be a pain in the butt... as i seriously cant have great sex without connecting with the fucker first... which means if i did want great sex with a fit bimbo, I'd have to engage with her... And that could take a lifetime of work...

Guess I'll go back to my cave... and over philosophise into a wet wipe...

Very nice design. One of the better ones I've seen in a while. I hadn't seen the old one, so comparison is hard.

It has been an eventful past few months. I've switched jobs, broken up with my boyfriend (last night), had an enormous confidence boost, and feel like i'm actually ready to step into my adult life.

There will be no more attempting to be who others want me to be. I've realized this is pointless. I'm just going to be myself and have a great next...

there's just something about this time of year (early spring/late winter) that encourages/welcomes change. at this time, plant buds and shoots will be trying to push their way up into the returning sun, and things will begin growing.
i've made a really difficult decision to quit my job in daycare, to leave the seacoast, my friends and living alone in my single apartment, and go back to school fulltime for my bachelor's degree and living under my mother's roof again (at 31)...i have worked in this same kind of deadend job for too long and it's time to make a change and better my life, cuz no one else is going to do it for me. i have felt like i'm stuck in my position for so long...no funds to support myself to go back to school, and no way to get a higher paying job without education. it was a vicious cycle...and though part of me will really miss having freedom and artistic license in my own place, coming home to a quiet apartment where i can walk around naked, being able to just hop in my car for a 15 minute drive to the beach, i know it's a good choice i'm making because it will provide me with what i need to make it on my own someday. i'm proud of myself for making the decision. here's hoping your choices will work out well for you! cuz where one door closes, another will open. believe in yourself that you can do it! believe it, and you will achieve it!

Sorry for being absent from the SG community for a while - my computer broke down (again) so my net access (other than at work) is limited. Right now I'm using my roommates computer, so I can't be on too long...

Anyway, next weekend I'm taking a road trip down to Los Angeles. Anyone have suggestions for sites to check out?

I have been having fun updating my "favorite pics" - there are way too many awesome pics on this site to choose from, but I've picked out the ones that at first glance make me all warm and bubbly inside. I feel like a stinky old perv, but then I realize I'm a 22 year old female, so it's a little hard for me to...

"The Denial of Death"! I just noticed. One of my favorite books *whispered, lest the anti-Freudians get word*. (And, no, I don't think he is right about everything. smile )
