My brother used to be deathly afraid of dogs, and the reason for it was rather unfortunate. We were still living in Maryland, just after I was born, and we shared a duplex with a family that owned some giant breed of dog. They didn't treat it very well and some of the older kids in the neighborhood abused it with rocks, so it became a barking machine. All we had separating our yards was this tiny chain-link fence, and it got to the point that even my father was afraid to go into our backyard. I think even my mother was afraid to go into our laundry room. I was too little to even remember it now, but it scarred my brother for a long time. He couldn't handle himself even around the friendliest, most playful dogs, because he thought they were trying to kill him. It took living with friends from college for a summer, who had the dopiest dog ever, for him to finally overcome it. He's much better now, but for the longest time he couldn't handle them. I've always loved dogs, though. I have a tendency of being able to calm down the most hyperactive dogs.

No offense at all on the Christian comments. I feel like my religion has been highjacked by a bunch of psychotic apes who want to infect us all with rage.

T-Day was pretty good. My father's side of the family pretty much all lives in the DC area, so we gathered at my grandparents' place in Westminster, MD. Kind of a halfway point. I got to see my brother, first time since his ordination. It was good all around. I'll have to post sometime with more info. I'm honestly losing interest in Suicide Girls. It's becoming more a badge of "cool" than anything else.

I have to say my current job is the best I've had. My old one was the weirdest, craziest, most disgusting, and least favorite, when I was working maintenance at the Courtyard Marriott on Hershberger. It was easy work, but I nearly barfed a couple of times. I won't give details. The coffee shop is the best one ever. It's the first time I've ever been able to not care about anything and get paid for it.

Why thank you. I'm getting the chest piece finished (FINALLY!!!!) tomorrow night.

The party at the Ghost Town was a great success. Raised some money for some families, and everyone had a great time.

My old man does the opposite. He can't jump up on the bed so he puts his chin on the edge of the mattress with his ears back and makes wookie noises until I get out of the bed and lift him up.

Looks like we've found a home for Cricket. She is going to be the center of a single woman's life, which considering the amount of abuse she suffered is a good thing. She's going to be a princess.

Our next challenge is a wee little boy who was going to be pit bait. He was found tied with a three foot rope to the back of a trailer inside a storage unit. I would love to do the same to whomever tied him up.

Thanks! I made my first attempts at candlemaking about 10 years ago... I didn't know what I was doing and most of them were fire hazards hehehe. I started collecting a few molds, and every year around the holidays I'd make a couple dozen to give out as gifts. Then last year I discovered soy wax and fell deeply in love. It's such an amazing difference in so many ways! So last year I processed somewhere around 100 pounds of wax... and in the next 3 or 4 months I really hope to get going!

oh that's a good story actually!

I was out clubbing and this girl ran up to me and pronounced that I had saved her life once and she'd never forget me! she then stuck her tongue in my mouth for a good few minutes.

after that she said, "oh this is my girlfriend, thanks again!"

next morning I had the start of a wicked flu.
