Taking my first crack at lyricizing (lyricizing?) how about writing lyrics. I've been singing in this bluegrass band. Which has been a lot of fun, I've got to learn an instrument but it's been great whaling these songs out. The band seems pretty satisfied. But, the way this works is that it's folk music so we're "cultivating" (covering) old classics (that a lot of other bands play) so I'm trying to bring in some stuff that your average bluegrass folk don't know about, some "alt-country" type stuff that we can turn into bluegrass, so if you've checked my profile and seen what I'm into you'll know I like Uncle Tupelo, I chose the song New Madrid, just a gorgeous song, it's a little short some I'm adding a verese that I think fits with the song and actually ends it farely well, because in the song you are kind of left hanging, you're thinking, "Did the girl survive, are the reunited, is she really the girl for him...I'm not a big fan of people posting lyrics in their journals, but since I am contributing the song I thought it appropriate, oh, and I justify doing this because in the history of folk music it is common to take songs, tweek them, change them, add, subtract, sort of like the game telephone, also there are answer songs, sometimes people write songs in respnse to someone elses song, for instance, one of the most famous is Lynrd Skynrd's answer to Neil Young saying a southern man won't bring you down, soooo without further rigormaroll...

All my daydreams are disasters
She's the one I think I love
Rivers burn then run backwards
For her, that's enough

They all come from NewYork City
And the woke me up at dawn
She waslked with me to the fountain
And she held onto my arm

Come on do what you did
Roll me under New Madrid
Shake my baby and please bring her back
Cause death won't even be still
Caroms over the landfill
Buries us all in its broken back

There's a man of conviction
And although he's getting old
Mr. Browning has a prediction
And we've all been told

So come on back to NewYork City
Roll your trucks in at dawn
Walk with me to the fountain
And hold onto my arm

Come on do what you did
Roll me under New Madrid
Shake my baby and please bring her back
Cause death won't even be still
Caroms over the land fill
Buries us all in it's broken back

Well, faith children are protected
Happiness will coincide
In a barroom or a doorway
Her life it is pride

So, hold on tight to that dimentia
Calling out to a fog
It's the part hasn't quite hit you
For you, is that enough?

(Chorus)

I'm not quite satisfied with it but it's still developing.

Now go see Batman!! and Maxi's pic of the day eeek

Marry ME!!! love blush
