1. Cut down on harmful things like alcohol, tobacco etc and for the period of your detox, avoid these things altogether.
2. Drink plenty of water (tap water is just a good as bottled mineral water).
3. Eat healthily, including plenty of sources of antioxidants (ie fresh fruit and veg).
4. Certain herbs are reputed to cleanse the liver, such as Milk Thistle and Dandelion (warning; dandelion can have laxative effects).
5. Get a few early nights as well.

I gave up the meat of land and air creatures when I was 16 and then at the age of 18, I gave up sea creatures too. I became a vegan much more recently, around about June last year.
I personally have no issue with people who give up meat but don't give up fish but then again I am very tolerant even of full blown meat eaters. As far as I am concerned, its up to everyone to make their own choices. If someone wants to be a meat eater that's up to them. If someone wants to be a vegetarian, that's up to them as well. Ok sure it would be great if everyone became vegan or vegetarian but hey, its not for me to start having a go at people because of their dietary choices. If you do find that people give you too much stick for being a fish eating vegetarian then you might find it easier to call yourself a pescatarian or pesco-vegetarian.
