Last night, on the top of a mountian, overlooking the city and way up high, we danced to louie and ella. The steps didn't matter so much as the music and the movement.
It seems I've started to dance again.

What a memory you have! (Or did you go back and check to see that it was the 13th?) I love that painting...

Wanderer Above a Sea of Fog by Caspar David Friedrich.

And yes, there is a tonal resemblance. Both figurers with their backs turned, alone but not lonely, on a journey (be it geographical or musical), etc.

biggrin

By the way, the first two pictures you posted come up as red X's for me...

No need to apologize for rambling. I can be pretty rambly myself (as I'm sure you've noticed)...

Too bad I can't see the first two pics. I love good photography...

Shame I'm no good at it.

Maybe now that I have a camera, I can learn to be better... biggrin

I have been tagged.
(Why am I participating in this?)

1. Seven things to do before I die
- Visit the galagapos islands
- Watch a volcano explode
- Live sucessfully in a treehouse
- Learn to change my own oil on my car (I've already done the motormounts, struts and breakpads... but oil changes are just as important to know how to do)
-...

This morning I'm questioning why I'm here and what I"m doing and why on earth did I decide to end up in a place so foreign to me?!?!? I feel like a foreigner on my own soil. I keep expecting the currency to be as different as the thought processes but it's the same and I'm nothing but confused. blackeyed

I felt very out of place moving just from Ottawa to Toronto, and that's the same province. It's funny how you don't have to go far at all to get culture shocked.

Upon arriving home today, I found a package waiting for me. It was full of images of my granddad and his family. People I've never met. It was sent to me by a first cousin who thought that I'd like to see what the other side of my family looked like. I now can honestly say that I know where my Italian came from.

Receiving a package like that would make me very excited! I have been researching my genealogy for about 8 years and have gone back to 1401 on my mother's side. She has Italian/Spanish/Portuguese blood. My dad's side is Mexican/Spanish Jewish. That's where I get my nose!
My Mother left me some photo albums of her family, but it only goes back 2 generations. How I wish I had more.
Italian, huh? smile

I'm just guessing that you're doing a photo shoot. Am I wrong? I'm going on a bullet shoot this weekend. A buddy of mine who always seems to get in trouble wants to show off how much better a shot he is than me. That's cool because he has about a dozen assault rifles to try out, and I don't currently own a gun. I told him I'd spend a c-note on ammo and he called me a lightweight. Oh well. ARRR!!!

coffee is good...

Nothing much to report...

Another uncle is in town, this one not anywhere near as fun as the last one. It's weird to have all of this family around after YEARS of not seeing anyone. I think it's because my parents have realtionships with these folks and I don't. They're seeing me as an adult for the first time and they're...

I don't think he was calling me ugly or anything, I just think he worded his suggestion inappropriately. Silly man! I deleted his comments to protect him from himself. wink 'Course, now I can't remember exactly who it was. Oh well, it's best forgotten by now.

I got a hug today! biggrin It's amazing how much a simple human touch can do. (I almost fell over when it happened)
and also saw the narnia movie... It was grand and I cried the whole way through it. (thankfully the person I was with didn't tease me about it. Occasionally I'm more female than I can describe...)

Good-night! good-night! as we so oft have said Beneath this roof at midnight, in the days That are no more, and shall no more return. Thou hast but taken up thy lamp and gone to bed; I stay a little longer, as one stays To cover up the embers that still burn.
