i took the promotion at the hotel instead of the sous job. many factors but in the end i think its the best decision right now. good pay, job security, easy commute from apartment and future condo, all factors.
hopefully i won't regret it, but i've actually seen improvment from the management lately, so that's it.

Sounds to me like you have some excellent reasons for making that decision. No job is perfect, so if you can find a reasonable balance of things, you're ahead of the game I think.
