booked it to Vail early today and made it back to China and Tea Cup Bowls before there were a whole bunch of tracks.
it was a bluebird day, which made the lack of a powder day more tolerable. The snow was still pretty good early. It was like creme brulee, a crunchy top with a smooth under layer. good turns were made and painful icy/powdery face shots were had.
when those bowls got crowded i headed back to the front. I lapped northwoods for a little bit, then did a run in the Chair 3 trees, then a run off of Chair 2.
2 has a lot of great groomers that are just wide open. I was on one ALONE and was taking it really fast making super wide carves. I hit a roller going way to fast and off my heel edge and ate it pretty hard, but not hard enough to hurt anything.
Hit some runs off of 26 for a little bit and then finished up with the 3 kickers in the lil' park Vail set up to remind non park rats like myself why we stay out of the park. . . its cause we suck at them.
needless to say . . . a good day off.
