went over to a bbq yesterday. i was amazed as to how many of my friends from work had the day off. there was a good crew there and i was happy to be hanging outside of work.
most of the people around there are quite happy coming in hungover and half assing it but not me. that's one reason why i don't go out as much as the rest of them. i've done my time on the party scene and i've felt that its about time i focused on progressing at work. i take my work very seriously and sometimes way too personally. if i feel i've prepared something lower than the standards i set for myself it can ruin my whole day. seeing as how my days are usually 10-14 hours it can make for a really shitty stint at work.
anyways.
it was nice to just be chill around those folks. a lot of people told me that they were glad to see me because they see me at work but don't really know who i am. i'm fairly private, so its my fault. i'm just too used to having a core group of like 8 friends.
soooooo
the best part was this super cute blonde who was there. the biggest clearest blue eyes i've ever seen. we talked a lot and she seems sweet. and she DOESN"T work at the hotel so maybe gossip can be kept to a minimum.
i balked on getting her number the room was so busy i didn't feel comfortable making a power move. she's a close friend of a friend so maybe things will shape up.

i am learning how to ride this winter. i feel it is dumb that i live on a mountain, hang out with pro snowboarders, dress like them, and yet cant go out and enjoy the day with them. XD
