oh yay! I can't wait to see your new hair! When I first cut mine, It was down to my ass, and I got a tappered bob, I think thats what they call it. It was shorter in back and came down in the front to frame my face. It looked awesome, and I pretty much haven't gone longer than shoulder length ever since. But my hair was really boring before the cut. And your hair wasn't boring, and you can tell you spend time on it, (It's fucking beautiful), so I can see why it could take some time to get used to. I'm sure it looks great though, and I think short hair looks really hot on girls.
