Trying to find jobs before Christmas is as fruitful as an orchard in a drought. Unfortunately I'm required to apply for ten per fortnight to keep my dole cheque.

The irony is that if I applied for a christmas elf job in some godawful mall I wouldn't get it, because 14 year olds are cheaper, and I have no experience in retail.

Meanwhile Christmas is...

@Terome wow this is well old. This is just before I moved to Canberra.
terome:
Totally.. I'm not that keen on seeing some of my old blog posts to be honest.. I quite liked having them as a momento of old stuff that's happened, but don't really want them paraded up front and center. Ah well. Sooo many things to get used to in this new site!

It's done. It's all over. Maybe I can earn some money now!

I've finished uni (apart from one report). I may pass on my final project, I may not. I didn't pass on the first submission but they let me resubmit. So hopefully it'll all be good.

Now I need a job.

Countessa just gave me a haircut, topless. Best haircut ever.

Okay, time to knuckle down and get on with the last three weeks of this seven year university career. I've watched everyone else vanish for most of their entire final year, so I'm sure I can pull my finger out and concentrate for another three weeks.

So if you guys see me on here, or in chat, or on facebook, yell at me until I...

I got into the pokies pretty bad but I seem to have that under control and as the the poker I'm trying to limit myself to an amount a week and I'v exceeded it this week so I'll have to wait till next week and during that time I'm hoping to forget. I got into it cause its something to do when all else fails tongue but I do agree with you but at least this way I can enjoy it more than throwing it off a cliff hehe

Someone started a new group on Sustainable Living. I'm suitably impressed, and looking forward to talking about this sort of thing with SG folks.

I started a sharehouse with a pair of other like-minded greenie students nearly four years ago here in Suburban Sydney. It's been an interesting challenge trying to increase the sustainability of our household while butting heads against the prevailing culture...

What are tomorrow night's plans? (That is, meeting up before HF?)
thefuckoffkid:
I'm bringing Bridehead along. Happy to meet at Mac, although no guarantee it'll be at 8.30. Maybe 9-ish or so. But the general idea is sound and if you're there earlier than me/we are, you get more drinking time. smile

Hah. What a riot! smile Do not feed the trolls, right? Yet this one (who clearly was either a troll or just not very Internet savvy) had no clue what was going on.

Hah, i've been asking people over to play Uno to encourage social interactions more than anything else, but if you fancy yourself an Uno Expert, i'd be more than happy to flex my genetically embedded prowess! I come from a long line of Uno grand masters, and consider myself an extremely logical thinker, so Uno is like... my turf? wink

So I was chatting with one of my fifth-grade students yesterday, and asked him if folks his age call each other dude still....like my lot did at that stage or thereabouts.

He said 'nah, mate, we call each other mate.'

It's the most standout case I've seen of Australian slang replacing American slang, instead of the other way round.

I, for one, support it. Perhaps...

Is all good. Some time early evening? Fancy a cheap meal?
thefuckoffkid:
I'd rather do Wednesday just because I know I'll have some free time. I may be able to wangle some time on the weekend but frankly September is getting manic and time will get scarcer and scarcer.

Postmodernism is taking the fun out of everything. I realise that this is a controversial position, and that for a lot of people, it makes things fun again. But it its rush to turn everything we thought we knew into mere notions, it's making the ground underneath my feet feel very unstable.

Yeah you're right babe. Implants.. well I'd be looking to spend around the twenty grand mark to get the most natural ones possible. And really, considering that people in the world are STARVING, it seems pretty fucking selfish to go spending that much doe on something as fucking dumb as my chest. But anyway, vanity is a killer, no? Lol.

And I wont be going to Australian politics just yet... i am such a hot head i know i'll go nuts and post ferocious blogs if i get involved!! though i am a wee bit curious... lol
