Seen a few spiders before, never at my new place, I think being on the second floor they are too lazy to come up that far. I've only seen a few snakes, when we had property, but you don't normally see them in normal house blocks.
I did see a cute tiny black snake when I was doing a rainforest walk with a friend in Jan. It was apparently deadly though... lol.
