damn that sounds rough. I cant say that I can actually relate but I dount that I would judge. I have never had a job, neglect my friends, disappoint my family and rely on stranger relatives for my continued existance. So I would be in no position to judge. I do however know what it is like to be alone. Trapped in the boonies, surrounded by people who judge me and not kindly. And yes sometimes drinking alone. So if you ever want someone to talk to I am willing to listen. I cant gurantee I will say the right things. But I always try.

Someone who does not live there is hosting a party there... yeah, that's gonna be interesting.. Seriously, since the job you're in is kinda monotonous in a way... I'd prolly go for it. The major con that you didn't mention though is that you're kinda important where you are.

Don't forget that vacation you took and how good it felt to be able to just go, secure in knowing your job was waiting for you when you got back. If you're ok with that, and except for that, the pros of the other job sound like they totally outweigh your present job.

Yes, as you get older you get used to the disappointments.. and by you I mean it happened to me. The problem though is they come with greater frequency so you really don't feel much better in the long run. I guess if I had strived more when I was your age to try to become something I wouldn't e where I am now... but on the other hand, there are things that I would have missed out on had I done that. So either way I'm a winner and a loser at the same time.
