NPR contacted yours truly to be a part of an online program called "News and Notes." However, I was unable to participate due to my court schedule. Damn it. It would have been fun. Anyhow, here is the link to the program. The only fault that I have with the program is that two participants are in the "true believer" vein. A differing perspective would...

Ever since I was a teenager, I have a trait, an air, or something that causes children to talk to me and view me as one of them. For the most part, it is has been a curiosity that I have taken notice of and nothing more, until yesterday.
Yesterday, I was off the to the county jail to see clients. When I arrived and...

That is cute
. Sounds like something my five year old brother would do.
Thank you for the comment

thanks, me too
I have watched the John Adams series on HBO, and I have loved every minute of it. It reminds us of the price that our forefathers paid to revolt against the most powerful nation at the time, to win our freedom, and to preserve it for you and I. I am glad that David McCullough is getting some recognition for his work as a writer....

A friend of mine just passed the bar a few months back and has been having a terrible time - can't find a job anywhere. I thought of you and wanted to check if by chance there might be an opening you knew of where I could point her in the right direction.

I need to check the book out. I've been reading more non-fiction lately (I just finished Augustus: Rome's First Emperor by Anthony Everitt).

err, D. Put the moonshine away =>
Because it is a reflection and not a photo of me directly it was a little desaturated, also has to do with the strobe and where I placed it...I guess...I also desaturated (how many morphemes in that word for $500?)about 25% for effect and bumped contrast.
If you look cloesly you can see I have a green shirt (dark) and also rosy cheeks
xoxo, D.

good guess!
Randy Pausch is my hero. Watch this video and you will see why. Plus, it does not hurt that his favorite NFL player is Hines Ward, a former Georgia Bulldog.

Meh just speeding. Well and then I got into an accident. but the DD was for the speeding.
I've only taken 1 of 6 hours.
I love this song because REM sounds like a country band.

Oh yeah! That's what I'm talkin' about. This song makes me think of my youth. "At night I drink myself to sleep and pretend you're not here with me." I'll bet there's bookcover on a chemistry textbook somewhere in my parents' basement with those words written on it.
Actually, I trace my initial interest in country to r.e.m. Do you have "Dead Letter Office?"

There's some good twang on that album. I hear the new album is stellar!
this is a duh statement, but ever since i started watching television again, it has rotted my brain, and stifled my ability to write.
sorry, just need a little bit of silliness to clear all of the crap that happened today at work.
I know that it is country, but I think it rocks. Plus, I am a good old country boy at heart, anyway. Deal with it.

Some thoughts from the NCAA Tournament:
I love sports. I love the competition and the sense of community that it fosters. People from different walks of life united behind a common goal and something larger than themselves.
I don't get men with tattoos on their necks. On women, it is hot. On dudes, it is just wrong. You can call me old fashioned, if you...

basically all protests are is a symbolic stand. i read somwhere that china is no longer going to allow media into Tiananmen Square like they said they would. i don't know.... i don't think they should have gotten the olympics in the first place.

Uninspired. Listless. Bored. Ideas and thoughts race through my mind, but when I try to catch them, they are elusive and impervious to capture like steam from a boiling pot. I cannot focus more than a few minutes at a time. This is not like me. I usually get bored after five minutes and not a second before.
Well, here goes nothing . . ....

You must feel awesome from your peers giving you props! I know I'm proud of you just from reading this entry.
I'm applying to join the Afganistant Justice Sector Support Program. Do you know anyone who has any experience with this organization? I've got a friend over there, but I wouldn't mind all the input I can get.
