I can relate to your last paragraph. Thanks for writing it.

Sorry to hear that. It sounds similar to feline leukemia. Weakness and lethargy are symptoms in the latter stages. But there is no cure, so if that was the case there wasn't anything that could have been done. My first two were siblings and born with it. They passed away within about 3 weeks of each other at the age of about 15 months. Actually, again I had to have them put down, but the first one was so far gone that he was having seizures by the time I got him to the 24 hour vet hospital. Some memories and images will stay with us all our lives.

I think the reason I focus so much of my attention and caring on cats is because I don't really like or relate to people easily. That being said, I noticed that you don't have a friends list. I'm assuming it's by choice, but if I'm mistaken, I'd like to add you if you don't mind.

In short . . .
Me and the X weren't getting along to well. The stress of an infant, living in a small expensive apartment, no money, and youth got to the both of us. She started going out on Saturday's with the girls. We became more and more distant. She went to the Bahamas with the girls and when she came back, I felt like I did not know my girlfriend/fiance of 4 or so years. BLAH BLAH BLAH. We postponed the wedding. Then cancelled about 2 months before. I am no saint beleive me, but as the years go on, I see more and more it was not even close to my fault. Thats history, now I am focused on my daughter. But lately the only thing I can think about is a nice girl to spoon with.
