I have considered the Scarab Beetle my totem for a very long time. I JUST did some research in to what this meant, because before it was a fact that I just accepted and lived with.

This is what I found:
Perhaps the most familiar Neter to many modern westerners is "Scarabaeus" the Dung Beetle. Sometimes also spelled "Xeper," this Neter depicts God rolling the...

Hey, we should DEFINITELY hang out. I don't think I can go to camping, and I'm really upset about that. Are you going on Thursday?

I'm thinking of setting up an e-bay shop to sell the stuff I make.

What kind of luck have you had with e-bay? I want stories. Examples.
quietlythere:
i have never sold anything off of ebay, but i have bought stuff from it. i am happy to say that i have not had one problem. however i always pay by US Post Office Money Order. i refuse to do PayPal. if the seller has something that i want and won't do the money order i simply will not buy it. for example there is a book on there right now that i want for $200. i emailed the seller asking if he would accept the US Post Office Money Order, and he replied back that they are worthless (hmm they are backed by the Fed Govt, so they are not worthless) i simply told the seller that i am no longer interested. i think that as long as you are careful in how you sell your stuff you won't have a problem.
sleepingdeath:
I also have only bought things on ebay, but I only ever use Paypal. Yes, they are evil, but they haven't done me wrong yet! There's just something satisfying (I'm sure from the seller's perspective as much from the buyer's perspective) to have the payment process completed so quickly as opposed to waiting for a physical check or Money Order to arrive.

Anyway, my experiences on the whole have been positive. I tend to buy mostly from high volume, highly rated sellers, and I try to get mostly things that are new, that don't say things like "as is," etc. I tend to use the Buy It Now option cuz most of the stuff I get is dime-a-dozen electronic crap that happens to be cheaper than if you buy it in a local store. And I don't think I've ever spend more than $30 including shipping on any one item, so I can't say I've risked much.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure if my experiences would really help inform you.

Whoah. The Beta went live.

My first instinct is to say that I don't like it... but it might just be that I am not used to it. So I am going to give it a few days.....figure my way around again.. before I unleash my final judgement.

Last night was a lot of fun.

Thanks to Octoginal and SaintInsomniac for showing me a lovely...

Apparently SG recieved a request to change my password. I do not remember doing this.

So that is why I have been locked out since friday.

I wonder how that happened? The password is something I would use... but I swear I didn't actually send in a change request.

So I didn't/am not going to win the contest this week.

A FRIEND of mine is...
