I got a rawkin' new tattoo a few days ago. I wanted to take a picture of it before it started peeling but I didn't find my camera in time. It looks kinda eh right now because it's still healing but I'll post a pic soon.

Our offer for the house was accepted and the inspection passed. We have a house! The guys there still need to find a place of their own but we're not ready to go just yet anyway. It looks like Melissa has a job with the county but nothing has been offered yet. I talked to someone at Petsmart corporate and a job I think I'd...

We found and put in an offer on another house in Phoenix. I'm not going to get my hopes up until the offer is accepted and it passes inspection.

I had an interesting morning the other day. I was on my way to the optometrist when my mom came down and said we had to talk. Apparently, someone in a collections group had called my grandmother (who co-signed my student loans) and said I hadn't paid in a year, owed $9,000, and if it wasn't paid they were going to garnish her social security...

The wife and I saw Jimmy Chamberlin's new band last night. It was good stuff. Billy showed up to sing the last song and show support for his boy. It will probably be the last time I ever see the two of them together again.

Christmas was good. My little brother came into town and we all hung out, which was nice. We went to a Brazilian steakhouse where guys with different cuts of meat walk around and you pick out whatever you want. Good stuff. I got a couple of guitar pedals I was hankerin' for and a bunch of CDs.

Mrs. Rawk and I went to Madison for...

So we don't have a house in Phoenix now. We had an inspector go through the place today and it is completely fucked. Apparently the owner tried to do a bunch of repairs himself to save money and he had absolutely no idea what he was doing. The roof could cave in, the plumbing is not only screwed but has lead pipes, the electricity is...

It looks like my wife and I have a house in Phoenix. She went out there last weekend to scout areas. She found a house that was priced at least $5,000 lower than what it should have been. It needs some work but nothing substantial. In order to get it though, we have to get some help from her parents. They're getting the mortgage in...

My store's third-in-command manager was fired today for theft. I never would've thought he would steal. He'd been with the company for quite a while and I'm sure could've gone quite a bit higher up the corporate ladder. So now I'm number 3 and will probably have to put in more hours since we'll be short a manager. This around the holidays and the other...

Hi, howsitgoin'?

Just wanted to drop in and offer some encouragement and some ideas for your group SPACE ROCK.

First, good idea. I'm more of an old-man dinosaur band guy (P.Floyd, Dead, Allmans) but 60's psychedelia jam bands are sort of the trunk that all other flavors of space rock branch out of. And I'm always on the lookout for something fresh and new and different. Some of the bands that have been mentioned in the group are people I've never heard of and the next time I make a trip to the local musicstore I'll take along a list and see if I can find any of 'em.

Second, the guitar effects thread was a good idea, too. Even though it didn't get much response, I like reading other musicians opinions about junk like that. There is actually a big musicians presence within the group, I looked at profiles and there are 13 guitar players and 1 bassist. Which brings me to my suggestion. How 'bout more threads about musician-related stuff? (guitars)

You're a guitarist, so I thought this idea might fly with you. And I see that you're not a member of Suicide Guitars, which is rather shrewd. Because the majority of members in that group are somewhat_clueless. You're probably aware that you're not missing anything in there. Actually I was recently banned for dissing the owner. Maybe it was a dumb thing to do, but he's a douche. SG rejected my application for an alternative guitar group, and I think it's a bit shortsighted to allow the genre of guitar stuff to be locked in the stranglehold of one persons' limited scope of music and life experience.

So, anyway, what I'm saying is, would it be alright if I satisfied my guitar jones in your group? I could keep it relative to spacerock; alternate tunings, techniques of particular artists and producers, funky gear, etc. NO threads about dumb shit like "who's the best guitarist?" or some such nonsense. That's boring. Think of it as having an editor, a guitar department editor for your group. Whaddaya say?

Let me know what you think. Aloha and Thanks.

i used to be the internal investigator for my company for 5 of our stores. you would be surprised who is stealing, mostly its people you would least expect.

i hope your new position isn't too stressful and that you get your transfer to good ole AZ smile

I was most of the way home tonight when I got a call from the store's security company. They said a burglar alarm went off shortly after I closed up. I headed back and the cops were already there. They said when they arrived, the door was unlocked and the alarm was going off but they didn't find anyone there or any signs of forced...

I hate opening on Sundays. For some reason, we have fewer people scheduledon the second busiest day of the week than weekdays when it's slower. I also think there is a Sunday morning curse. It seems every time I open, something happens. Today, three people called in to say they weren't coming before the store even opened. I don't have another manager or stocker come...

Just got back from the Pixies show. Bloody excellent it was. There were a couple songs they didn't play that I wanted to hear (no "Planet of Sound?" no "Alec Eiffel?") but they played most everything else. I'm really glad I got to see them. I love Kim. She's got a natural cuteness and her voice is friggin' amazing.
