Anyway, Costa Rica was amazing. It's a beautiful country (even in the dry season), and the weather was perfect all week. Somewhere around 90 F with a nice breeze blowing to keep you comfortable. Pretty kick ass, I must say.

When I still ate meat there was never a moment when I didn't sit down in front of a plate, knowing that I was about to sustain myself with the dead flesh of another creature who had given its life so that I could live. I always said a quiet prayer of thanks to the animal in question before eating. If you make the choice to eat meat you should accept the responsibility that comes with it and learn about the consequences of your actions. Ignoring and denying the truth only does the creatures who died for your dinner an even worse disrespect than they have already suffered.
think a lot of them would become vegetarian if they really knew what goes on.
Even after all that the point came when I simply couldn't shoulder those choices anymore. I'm now vegetarian - and in fact it's done me a world of good!

Yeah, it was rather nice to be able to look up at the stars without all of those damn lights...but you can also get the same effect by driving to Caledon on a clear night. And you don't even have to shut off a large power grid, either. Ha.
