Invasives are a problem in almost every ecosystem, but I've read that Hawaii is pretty bad. I don't think there is a single one out there that doesn't have some invasive plant or animal in it. With good management you can get rid of invasives and have local flora return for carbon fixation. It's always better to have endemic species to maintain the diversity and stability of an ecosystem.
