yep the movie date was good. went and saw Starsky + Hutch which was a bit of a laugh... though probably would have been better if I had seen the original series and was able to compare the two in terms of the satire. Still good for some classic scenes tho' like the Disco Dance-off... heh.

im sorry to hear about the Sydney hookup not coming to fruition. But its good that you found out before so as to avoid the face to face speech and all the red-cheekedness that comes with it.
and you know you'll only be thinking about her until the next lady grabs your attention.
i've had the friends speech in the past before but i've successfully avoided it in the past few years. usually if i meet a girl who I quite like and we are able to spend time together through mutual acquantances or places we hang out, i'll just be a really nice friendly guy who is trying to get to know them as a friend. but in getting to know them i'll be a bit flirty, etc which leaves that 'possibility of more than friends' door open. in doing that, you also get a feel for what they think about you in the way they respond to the casual flirting friendliness. ofcourse if she doesnt respond, then what have you got? a good female friend (who will have other friends she might try to set you up with now that shes gotten to know you and thinks your a nice guy).
cant lose in that situation.
I hope that didnt sound too 'advicey' cause im sure your up to play, but I just thought it was an interesting way of approaching things.

tho' I cant say i've done anything similar but its always something i've wanted to do.
anyway the new place is going ok. got a couple of young ladies, both 22... one has a really annoying voice and is a bit of a slapper, but shes ok. the other is a nice girl who laughs at my jokes so i like her better, but they are both friendly.
The third is a guy who I dont know anything much about (he moved in a week later) but seems like a mellow kinda guy and just says 'sweet' everytime I tell him something. Cant argue with that.

so yeah I got a package in the mail at my old place yesterday... i was expecting a DVD and some CD's I ordered and low and behold if it wasnt the Cowboy Bebop Perfect Sessions Boxset + Movie! I ordered it last year around July and then it never showed up and I thought it was lost. Turned up still stamped with July's date and everything so god knows where it disappeared to.

Will wait to see it on DVD then. Good to talk to yesterday was impressed with your dvd collection mate and I thought i had a lot haha.

You have officially put me off seeing Van Helsing! I was kinda iffy about it, but seeing what you say about all the CGI and the lack of blood, i think i'll skip it.

To be honest, I havent really seen any good 'horror' movies in a long time. I think the last one was this independant one called 'My Little Eye'... worth checking out!

burgers rule - we have a place called 'burger fuel' in auckland. its the best.

cars suck - i had to pay $1300 getting my car fixed last week.

dreads - i used to have them when i was 17 but i looked like a gimp so i cut them off. mine were real long tho', you'd prob look good with the shortish type ones. and you're obvisouly not afraid to shave yr head if it all goes tits up.

yeah i managed to find a couple of copies on ebay, both at around $10 US which is a good price. when i buy online I try to get multiple items from the same person to cut down on the shipping, ie: it would probably be $10 for that book in shipping which doubles the prices, but if i got say 5-6 books it would prob only be about $20, so the cost is spread more evenly around. anyway the guys who were selling it didnt have anything else i was interested in. i have a friend at borders tho' so will check with her this weekend if i get the time.
might have to go online and download a sample of the new FF stuff.... see how it holds up!

yeah BR2 a definate let down.... might have to do with the original director dying and his son taking over? i thought it was pretty stink that a lot of the blood was obviously animated.
yep i love asian cinema. been getting really into it the past couple of years. we had a couple of really great filmfests over here which introduced me to the genre. i own ichi on dvd (aswell as a few other miike films - blues harp, audition, the guys from paradise, dead or alive, rainy dog, graveyard of honour)... i havent watched them all yet because i've got a stack of DVDs to get through and just dont have the time.
you can pick up a LOT of great asian dvd's cheap on ebay. you get the asian versions, but in most cases thats all that will be released. I can usually get any film for about $5-$6 US, which is a real bargain.
i just bought a few akira kurosawa films too.
so you're 6'5 huh? do you get into basketball at all?
im gonna go look for that bruce campbell book on ebay now.

i had high hopes for br2 as we saw the advance trailer last year and there wasnt any blood in it yet and it was looking great then i sat down to watch it and with in the first 20 min i was like awww crap what a waste .. shoulda let this end at the first one while it was riding high
