Transparent (poem)

Simple words likeTransparency
Complicate the simple things
Cause no one really wants to see
All the insides of you or me

If poeple saw through our skin
And glimpsed a walking skeleton
It would scare the bravest men
To show the hearts that beat within

So I scrub this opaque flesh
Wear some clothes that compliment,
Middle fingers to who wants the rest...

What Bled Wasn't Cut (poem)

I sharpened a knife
That I found in my back
And returned it gently
To the scene of attack

You listen deeply
I heard deeper in fact
When landed softly
Heard my own bones crack

What ebbed was what was
What hurts is...
What will not be
What bled wasn't cut
What died wasn't me

What bled wasn't cut
What...

Darkroom (poem)

Forgiveness isn't the path
To regaining trust
It's leaving yourself exposed
Voulnerable to the lightest touch

So my heart's a darkroom
Red light and gelatin prints
And you sit and watch
I pray you let exposure develope

It's high contrast, black and white
You gently brush the negatives
I cross my fingers and smile
Proof is more than explatives

And we can open...

Wastebasket (poem)

We wasted away, wasted so much
Time apart when we were together
Doing stuff, junk, and things
We could have invested better

I went rummaging in the waste basket
For some of thosemoments
we threw away; airwave static
Background noise, sounding regrets

Smoothed out the paper,
To see what games we used to play
With our time together
When we had less to...

Benign (poem)

Something's so very not right
In everything I see in you
While Your lips are singing verses
Your hands play a different tune

Burdened by this weight
I really think I should go
Don't want to cover
for your mistakes
Don't think I can
Leave it alone

Something's on fire
Inside me
Shut up in these bones
Nothing can be the same
There's...

Cigarette Life Span (poem)

My life: a cigarette
All wrapped in paper
My life: a cigarette
I live through a filter

I look for an open flame
Somethig to light me
I want to catch on fire
But I only slow burn, slow burn, slow burn

My life: a cigarette
I guess livings a habit
Don't want to kick it now
I gotta have it,...

You need to write a book of all this poetry mister. I love this one too, I love all your poems.
dghouls:
Thank you both, I'm not sure my poetry deserves a book, having read such great stuff that is published, though I think my meager writings are good.

"Eulogy"

Falling like a feather
But my belly feels like lead
My spine is bound in leather
And my words are plainly read

Alchemy rears it's measure
With deeds and what is said
Sunlight rings a distant bell
Raising me from the dead

So now let this eulogy
Rust the iron apathy
Let our epitaph
Be an entrance path
To all the places we need...
