Tonight is the first meeting of the Anime Club, which I started, and I'm still wondering if anyone is going to show up. We posted flyers all over school. However, several of the students are disenchanted with me for the sole reason that I'm so into anime. So I say, fuck 'em.
I've gotten many emails from students who are trying to sabotage the club...

Thank god for airplanes. If I were travelling by covered wagon, or god forbid, car, it would take me days and days to reach my adopted hometown.
There are already a million bands that I want to see. I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it to each of these shows, but here is the list. Anyone who is willing to tag along,...

If you really want to go into 2D animation, just find something worth animating. If it's worth watching, it doesn't really matter what medium it's in. But finding something worth doing is more often than not, harder than it sounds.
Unless I'm looking at this wrong, and this is a matter of just getting hired somewhere. In that case, maybe you should in the poverty line while doing the band thing. Everybody has tp sacrifice for their art at some point.
You have my best wishes on which ever path you choose.

Hey
the mics i used are Sound Professional SMB-3 binaural mics. they are pretty small and have clips on them. I just attached them to my glasses. I also had to get this little 9volt battery thingy that boosts the level up to line so that I can use it on recorders with only line in. Works pretty good, just have to normalize after. If you have a regular mic in then you get alot more sound, but either way they sound good.

Insomnia can be a terrible thing.
I haven't been able to sleep properly for about two weeks now. I have a theory to why this is, but just because I know the cause doesn't affect it from happening. Right now I'm wide awake at 2am. Last night I stayed awake until 5am, at which point I drifted off and had a dream about being an...

I'm going to be leaving for Chicago on Sunday, and two of my friends have a "fabulous" reception planned for me. We're talking Queer Eye for the Straight Girl fabulous.
I should have some new pics taken, and then I'm going to apply to become a Suicide Girl.
Also, there will be some new translations on my Japanese lyrics site very soon. I did Puffy's...

yay thanks so much! I really need to study my japanese haha.
Did I ever mention that I speak fluent Japanese? Not to sound as if I'm better than any of you who don't, but it's pertinent to my current activities.
I've been translating J-Pop song lyrics for a website run by the lovely Cori. So if you'd like to read my translations, I have my own little site. I've only done three songs so far, but...

I understand about wanting to be able to communicate with your boyfriends family. Until I could speak swedish I couldnt speak with my boys family at all (well besides his older brother, who I was always really good friends with)
I see it with my sister, who has moved here too, His family doesnt speak english, and she doesnt try very hard to learn swedish. Talk about misunderstandings.
My best friend lives in Chicago, so when i come home for a visit I will be stopping in chi-town for a little while.
take care.

WOW....just WOW, could you be anymore amazing
You should each read my friend Mahatma Randy's review of Mel Gibson's "The Passion," which can be found here. My favorite quotes are as follows:
"Congratulations, Mel, you've made the first Jesus film in history that is completely inappropriate for children. I'm sure Jesus is really proud of you for that."
"What youv'e done, Mel, is spend thirty million dollars to make a kind...

Studio time had been booked. The album should be finished by April, and if it's not, that's an amazing amount of money that I've sent down the tubes.
Hello to all of my new friends. The response has been both viscious and heartwarming, and for that, I thank you.

i just went through your web site. the music is really good. your doing a great job..
It doesn't matter if you like me, because Warren Ellis does. But it's understood, because I'm Spider Jerusalem's girlfriend.
Here's what Warren had to say about me:
"Curiosity Valentine has a dark, strong, sharp voice. Her music, piano-driven, takes something similar to the Bristol Sound and introduces fuzzed, prowling guitar to it while making the jazz overtones more pronounced and edged. Songs of the doomed....

i had piano lessons for about 6 months when i was 17 and guitar lessons for about six months when i was 10.
does that disqulify me from your band?

ilovemikehunt:
yeh, but my point is that you posted your ad for people who've never picked up an instrument in a musician's forum... chances are, we've all picked up instruments before, or tweaked knobs. good luck on finding a band; if i weren't already tied up, i'd check it.
Are you a young woman who wants to be in a band but doesn't know how to play an instrument? And do you live in the Chicago area?
Then Curiosity is the band for you.
I am currently seeking out people to slam on guitars and keyboards and things. No previous experience necessary. Noise will be made. Email me to find out how.
