it's a poor substitute for going to japan but maybe applying your japanese skills in other amazing ways will cheer you up a bit.
pirate groups are always looking for japanese readers to translate anime's that haven't been released outside of japan yet and the same goes for import gamers and romz.
none of the awesome rewards of turning japenese but you could still impress the hell out of some geeks.
either way i hope you feel better soon.
