Glad to hear you didn't lose your job. Those things are hard to come by these days. I listen to alot of reggae too. I'm really into that rocksteady sound, like Desmond Dekker, Alton Ellis, etc. Kinda like that early Bob Marley sound, but that was more SKA. I like Jamaican Ska, but not too keen on the American knock off. Some of the Bristish ska was o.k.
Doin' anything fun for your birthday? I hate math too. When I was in college, I originally placed out of math. They said I didn't have to take any. That didn't show up on my transcripts, and I had to take Algebra my 3rd year. NO fun!
I like Madonna up to and including "Like a Prayer". After that, it all went downhill. Well, have a great weekend. Go easy on the muffins!

I like working with kids too.
But I think Id rather work with the mentally ill.
(art therapy or something)
Being a psych tech wouldnt be so bad either- at least I could make sure the patients were being treated properly.~ Fucked up shit always goes down in mental institutions. I should be like a mental health advocate or something.
I think eventually I'll try to persue the Art Therapy thing.
Love and Light- Elle

Arvut- Our Great Responsibility

This weeks portion presents a concept that everyone intuitively understands to some extent, but few people realize how important it is to fulfillment in their daily lives. The Hebrew word for this principle is arvut.

This word can be loosely translated as responsibility.

The interconnectedness of all humanity is a fundamental kabbalistic teaching. It is the underlying principle of treating others...

that was quite insightful and brilliant. thank you ever so much for giving me something new and beautiful to be aware of. yet another dollop in my admittedly limited knowledge of judaism, and kabbalism in specific.

thank you.
alistairmather:
anytime. i have found that people will oft times scream their words to the endless night just for the mild hope that something in the world will hear them and respond. this is why a belief in the gods has always been so necessary to our species, we desperately want to know that the universe recognizes us as an individual, not as a part of a whole.

...which is a terribly obtuse and convoluted way of saying i understand teh pleasure in feed back. anywho, off i go to slip/slide silently through the halls of information and query this new thing i have been given.

information is beautiful.
