As I took the second bite of my salad, something very small and red ran around the rim of my plate. I suspect it was a mite. It was probably in the bag of salad I had just opened. I threw it out and the salad topping because it is mostly red as well (could have been in there). I'm pissed because that was my...

FSA: "you qualify for $18,000 in student loans."
College: "The best we can do is $4500"

Now I have to call the school and find out WTF happened. The loan amount isn't enough to cover the full year.

NP = "if you get some compression stockings, it will help with that."
Me = "how much compression do I need?"
NP = "20-30 millimeters of mercury. I am going to put that on ..... that was a really good question."
We got into a discussion about how I even knew to ask that. She told me I had asked a lot of good...

One more road trip in the books. It was good seeing my brother and family in Houston. Holy humidity Batman! We had daily late morning rain which screwed a lot of my plans. I shot like 4 photos, which is unheard of for me. Normally I shoot 5+ rolls of film. I took my Super8 movie camera and I think I got a minute of...

Ohh hopefully it won't be that expensive 🤞
cruorem_angelus:
@rubymoon From what I read online, several people said it could be about $1000 ($5000 if I destroyed the tranny). But, those people were having trouble with the transmission shifting gears. My truck is running smoothly and I won't drive it again until I take it to the shop. That should keep the repair cost down.

Many years ago, I used to go shooting a lot. Over time, friends got married, had kids and stopped going shooting. I learned to reload ammo in the early 90s and by 2010, I stopped because we weren't going to the range anymore. Times have changed and my friends are interested in range time again. I dusted off my reloading supplies and found that some...

I used to reload a lot when I only start shooting years ago, but stopped (well I only reload for shotguns these days) but I know how much prices are raised  in US and I totally understand why people started to reaload more.
cruorem_angelus:
@avrora When we had an ammo shortage years ago, the reloaders were spared. After a year, people began to catch on and the reloading supplies disappeared. When the ammo shortage started in 2020, the reloading supplies disappeared as quickly as the ammo. I have the gear to reload for shotgun as well. However, I still have many older shells to shoot.
