Pumpkin spice is back at Starbucks!!! I'm a happy little Cosette. Well, it's been an exciting week back on campus. My car got towed on Tuesday because apparently I was parked in a "No parking" zone. However, the guy told me I had until Tuesday night before they started punishing people for parking violations. They also said they tried to call me. They never did....

nopantsdave:
Did you finish C&P yet? Any idea what you're reading next?

I wish I could get around to learning Greek. I've tried a couple of times. I dream of being able to read Plato and Aristotle in the original.
nopantsdave:
Hell, I've been there. I know what it's like. That was one of the things I hated most about being in school is that it took away from my personal reading time. Making fun of you for not being finished hadn't even crossed my mind.

Sometime when you're back in town we should go bookshopping together.

Havana was amazing. I got to meet so many new and awesome people. I had pizza with PunkNiteMike KatieOkieDokie Tikki And a couple other members who were so much fun. They kept talking about how much I ate. I guess I hav an impressive appetite. I'm glad I was able to go. I ended up driving back to Cincinnati that night because I had TONS...

K I am definitely going to Havana. Thank you PunkNiteMike and friends!

I just got an email from my Greek teacher. Too many students signed up to take Greek. Keep in mind that they have a maximum capacity number that apparently these people do not pay attention to. So now they have split the class up into two sections. It used to be at 10:30...

I got so much stuff shopping Wednesday I'm really excited about it all. For books I bought Les Miserables by Victor Hugo nd Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. I was going to go from Tom Sawyer right to Huckleberry Finn, but I was so excited about Crime and Punishment that I started readin that instead. I am loving it! I'm only about 78 pages...

Guess who's going to Havana??

THIS GIRL!!

Can't remember if I have discussed this yet, but I loved loved LOVED Wicked. I got into it right away and just couldn't put it down. It is a lot different than the musical, but it is just as good. I love them both equally. For anyone interested in those kinds of books or looking for something different...

I'm thinking about going to Havana, but I'm scared, I know my social anxiety would get the better of me,

So what is wicked about anyway? I really need to read a new book.

I love the Tom Sawyer movies and have been meaning to read the books for years.

That is great, I'm really happy for you.

Well good lucky, I hope you get use to getting up early and I hope you love all of your classes.

I hope you have fun shopping.

nopantsdave:
when you get the chance, you should see Stand By Me all the way through. It's really a great movie, one of my all-time favorites. The book's really good too.

I'm on the fence. I'm not really sure what I'm wanting.

Do I stay? Do I go? Or maybe bring up my concerns and see what happens...

Count down until I move back to Lexington...
13 days.

August 31 can't come quick enough.

I still don't understand why you hate it here so much. It must be that you grew up here and it's all old and stale. I know I hate my hometown too. I'm really enjoying it here so far.
nopantsdave:
I spent the first 20 years of my life in Saginaw, MI, pop.65,000 or so. The next 10 were spent in Kalamazoo, MI, pop.50,000 or so. This place seems fucking huge to me. I know it's not NY or Chi or SF or anything like that, but still significantly larger than what I am used to. I had to drive 2+ hours to see any concert that I might want to, now it's a 15 minute walk. It also helps that I am an enormous Reds fan and I live four blocks from the stadium. Don't get me wrong, I see some faults here....shit downtown closes way too early, for one. I know at some point the newness will wear off and I'll need to relocate again. I doubt I am here for life. But I'm enjoying it for now.

One other complaint I have. I need a girlfriend and there are no good places to meet people in this town except bars. I really don't care much for going to bars.

The boy and I are done...

It sucks yes. What break ups don't? It's not the end of the world though. Everything will be okay.

Wicked will be done tomorrow.

So, how was Wicked? Is it worth the time?

My snakes are gone. frown frown frown frown

They're my babies. The good news is the girl who feeds them while I am away at school now has them so they will be well taken care of. I'm never here anymore so I don't have time to get them out and pay with them like I used to and because I cared for them so much I wanted them...

So how far up in the vagina does that thing have to go? does the girl put it in or does her doctor have to put it in? how long have those things been around?

Well if you keep looking at Craig's list stuff is posted there everyday, you could also look in the news paper.

Hey doll! Thanks for your comment on my last set, I'm glad you liked it! smile

I just completed Candide by Voltaire. I like that you have to think more in depth to really understand what Voltaire is trying to say. It seemed to go along with nowadays things when speaking of the evils humans do to one another and all the talk of war. Maybe we haven't come as far as we had like to think since the eighteenth century....

Gogol's one of the few Russians I haven't tackled to some extent. I love Dostoyevsky, he may be my favorite author. Tolstoy's great. Nabokov is amaing. Turgenev, Lermontov and Pushkin all were fantastic. For some reason, Gogol's just slipped through the cracks.

I never got to Calculus. I'm good at math, but I hate it. Fortunately, I was good enough to test out of having any math in college. I made it through to graduation without having to take any math. I did want to take geometry since it taps into the philosophy/logic side of my interests, but they wouldn't ket me do it without takign a bunch of prereqs, so fuck them.

I'm not sure if you can get it at any grocery store...I'd definately check out a health food store.

I finished Catch-22 today. Finally. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I didn't dislike it and I didn't love it. I guess it could be said that it was okay. If one would not read it, one would not be missing out. I think I was expecting a lot out of it though. I heard a lot of "This book is fantastic! It's...

Maybe I will read it one day when I have nothing better to do.

You made some damn good choices there, I hope when I quit my job I will have more time to read.

If you have not read great expectations then I would read that, it is a great book.

smokebombhill:
You have great taste in books! I like all those choices, but think you should read Wicked first. smile

Jobs holding stable, im stuck doing summer busy work and I hate it, but a paycheck beats the hell out of no paycheck, other than that, its pretty much same shit different toilet but I got a grip of pirate faire work coming up which is both fun AND money, and you can't beat that combo.

You have an excellent bands list here. wink
