yeah, i learned that in a book by diane ackerman called 'the natural history of the senses'. it's kind of squishy romantic, but there is a lot of information in it that is useful about all of our senses. of course, i cannot remember anything but the kissing thing, but oh well.

so my mom called tonight and the subtext of the conversation was she might have to quit work because she has severe knee pain from arthritis and being old and what have you. i feel horrible for her.
