I have worked 30 of the last 36 hours but I did see Willie Nelson. Fucking Amazing. 1 1/2 hours non stop and every song you could want to hear him play. Amazing. I also got a new banjo. I bought it sight unseen from a friend of the wife's and it is in much better shape than I was expecting, so woo hoo.

We are back in town. We had a great weekend. Saturday night we caught a good reggae band down in Carbondale. We hung out there until our friend got off work. We got some awesome Gyros and went back to his house to chill. Sunday we went around the parks and hit a winery.. We ate at a few awesome places. We stopped at a...

The kids need to come home soon so we stop spending money like we have it. Tonight we went out and had a chill late dinner at the Indian place. We got things spicy because it was just us and now my belly has a very satisfying burn in it. More of a glow than a burn. Of course the week the girls are gone and I can't see them I have been opening and getting out early. Oh well, one good thing about that is I open on saturday so I could conceivably get off in time to go see Willie Nelson on Saturday. I think the wife is going to try to swing it. I haven't ever seen him live and I don't want to miss the opportunity.

After dinner we went to Kohl's to get some shoes and were successful. That is rare for me as I am picky about my shoes but I actually found a pair I liked. I also got a cheapy pair of adidas soccer sandles with the nubby bottoms, strictly for around the house. Oh well off to purve.

Woo hoo. The children are out of town for a week and the wife and I are making a run out of town for a day or two. There will be drunkenness. If we make it in time there is decent band to see before my buddy gets off work and another one to see once he's done. We will be staying with a friend...

I got off Sunday and Monday so the wife and I can celebrate our anniversary together and child free. Now we have to decide what we want to do. If we go some where we could leave saturday evening since I open that day. If we stay in town, where to eat and what to do afterward. She has a couple ideas that would be...

Have FUN in Chicago, man...you definitely deserve it. Congrats, too, on your years of wedded bliss with wifey; I cannot imagine you with anyone else, and that is really cool. Y'all have been my example of how cool it can be for a while now...even given the trials and tribulations. You and her are doing it RIGHT, for sure. smile

Great day out with the girls. We had breakfast pizza. We bought furniture, a bad ass chair and a 1/2 and some chairs to go with the table I had redone. Then we went to the drive in movie for a Lorax / Men in Black 3 double feature that lasted til 12:30. The girls were wiped out the Ziz fell asleep out side and...

Sounds like some yum.

I have a interesting gravy/marinade recipe that I recently tried.

Yucatecan garlic spice marinade. If you have an interest, I will share.

I should change the blog. I got off early-ish today so I am taking the girls out for dinner. That is partly because they had their last day of school, partly because I don't feel like cooking and mostly because I just spent the last hour cleaning the kitchen and I can't bring myself to fuck it all up again right now. We are also...

Gonna be a mind-bending blast for sure, man!!! biggrin

I'll have a window to get those RG45 lines run for you either late afternoon Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday evening next week. Your wife said y'all's relatives probably aren't coming, but I'll maintain the illusion of urgency so it gets done...

New Cthulhu? Is it by August Derleth?

Keep your eye on facebook; I'll try to post amusing stuff as it happens (providing I can still figure out my phone). wink

Yesterday blew but today was better, not a whole ton better but better. Nothing blew up at work and what I thought was the transmission fucking up on my car turned out to be something considerably cheaper. Still 300 bucks but not 2 grand. I need to get to to bed because I have to go in early tomorrow but I'm still buzzing a bit...

Today I had what they call a "Development Meeting" where we talk about what's going well and what sucks and what we have coming up. I am not a meeting person so it sucked and it ended up being like a performance review of me. That part was fine because they like what I do and their only complaints were that I should yell at...

Looks like a truly epic time, man! It sucks that the weeks fell like they did and I couldn't make it...*sigh* It's funny, though, how the pics you posted here are the same ones I "liked" in the fb album (except the food shots; I appreciated the one with the lamb the most).

I may stop by for a "shot" Friday night... biggrin

I have officially started cooking for the wife's grad party. I just threw the lamb legs into the smoker and I am getting ready to cook off the chickens for the butter chicken. I managed to get the entire band to come play which makes the wife happy and my buddy has gotten over not knowing about it til now. My mom's boy toy has...
