Koyaanisqatsi--

Life in turmoil

Life disintegrating

Life out of balance

A state of life that calls for another way of living.

Amy Sedaris isn't in Chicago. Is she? I didn't see it. I left after Richard Gere attempted tap dancing. It got scary.

Dude, you appear to be in a major funk. I think you need a stiff drink (maybe 2) and to spin some funky records. After all, none of this is real anyway...you did see The Matrix, right? Keanu Reeves wouldn't lie.

It's so weird to turn to every channel and see the skyline of a city, which every station is filming because, at some point, some rockets or bullets might fly out of it....or into it.

...it must be weirder still to be living in that city.

cool sctv post... that made my day.
jerry todd is the ultimate morning show, and days of the week was always great... rocco.

cccp tv was so hilarious.. "look how many countries fit into mother russia".

yeah..classic.

Well, I knew what the song was in my head, but I sometimes have these cognitive slip-ups. Today, I was bitching about something Bill O'Reilly said, and I called him Phil instead. Probably because Dr. Phil was on TV this morning.

Eh. Brain farts.

I rented two movies.
One of them is Jesus' Son. When it came out, I thought about seeing it, but I was worried by the perception I got from reviews that it was "about" drug use or rehab. I have to say (this ties in with what I wrote on Morgan's journal) seeing people do drugs or drink is not my idea of a fascinating...

i still have all the action figures from the movie they are beat to shit but i still hold them in high regard and when i was in florida a few years back i went to planet hollywood and they had the actual V.I.N.C.E.N.T.
i have a pic of it maybe i will post it when i get a scanner
2 other things
1 you are so right about older sci-fi todays stuff while sometimes good looks to clean and sci-fi has always been about looking rough in my opinion
2 i found Ghost Dog really boring and one of the few films i was unable to stay awake to just didnt pull me in and based on your review i think i will skip Jesus' Son altogether

I watched a debate over the weekend...CSpan fudged the broadcast on Sat night, then continued it on Sunday...and I fudged the VCR, put it on the wrong speed, and the tape cut off before it ended! I originally tuned in to see Mr Christopher Hitchens. By the end, I was a fan of Michael Ignatieff.
Hitchens and Ignatieff are normally arguing for positions perceived as...

My favorite quote from W's address to the nation was this:
"We are a peaceful nation."
Enough said; let your mind spin out of control as it should.

That's exactly what my professor sounds like, except he isn't funny. Woody Allen used to be funny, it's true. Go rent Bananas.

A couple of corrections of perhaps incorrect perceptions from my last couple of posts....
1) When I said Oksana's book could show you how to be a better person....um, a bit of an overstatement. Those passages I quoted were beautiful and thoughtful, and she is too, but the book is a grab bag. It is mostly blah parts on the skating tour, and some of...

Oops, I almost forgot to post today. I'm gonna watch Christopher Hitchens in a lil bit on cable. I assume, with his dislike of dictators, Hitchens is gonna argue for war against Iraq. I believe he has before.

I'm against war with Iraq, in consideration of the deaths it'll cause and the bad blood it'll stir between the USA and the mideast (AND now it...

I had 3 cockateils, one died about a week ago. They're medium sized birds, and live in a large cage. I let them out sometimes, but not for long, because of the cats.

For the most part all my pets get along. The cats like the birds a little too much, and I don't think the rat and the gerbils would get along to well.

Love the new pic - penguins rule.

I missed my city's protest march a couple of weeks ago - wish I had gone. I think you'll look back in years to come and know that you did the right thing in protesting.

Under the category of Things You Might Not Know About Me, or Things About Me You'd Find Ridiculous-- you probably wouldn't think I would get teary-eyed reading a passage from a book by Oksana Baiul, listen to an entire Frank Zappa compilation,
then read the Oksana Baiul passage again and get teary-eyed again.

I got this book when it was being weeded from a library...

With age comes maturity, maybe...because I said I was bitter at someone on a journal entry once, and... I'm not. I'm so NOT bitter at anybody right now! Why would I have been bitter a few weeks ago? A bad day? I dunno...but I can say I'm not bitter at anybody right now...

...of course, there's still people I DON'T LIKE: Saddam and Georgey Porgey....

I suggest, if you haven't, that you go to the SG Musicians thread where Cryogenick posted, and download some of his stuff. I've downloaded 4 or 5, and I've got "In a Green Field Amidst Dancing Happy Orphans" on right now. I'm so high on synth....

Since Morgan's on spring break, not able to post much, I wanna do a tribute to her and...

They're comparing Ani DiFranco to Dylan on the Music Board. Holy Shit!!! I think that's what happens when 19 year olds think they know alot about music. Was I that dumb at that age?
