I'm lucky, we'll be seeing each other every 3-4 weeks while he's gone on this trip and that's making it a little easier knowing that we'll have that time together... and we finally have webcam's for the computers, which will make it seem a little more like he's here when we're talking online at night. We have been IM'ing each other most nights, and I like it in some ways better than talking on the phone since we end up spending more time together that way.

I used to be a huge fan of the Food Network but they have lost favor with me in the last year. It all started when in last years The Next Food Network Star they booted Jag off the finale because he fudged his resume and brought back an eliminated person. I did not like either, and Amy's show lasted 6 episodes of which I watched about 10 minutes total.
Then with their high and mighty attitude they fired Chef Robert of Dinner Impossible for the same thing but they did not investigate far enough. Even if he did, we are watching a reality based show and not someone going for a Nobel Prize. Then to save the show replaced him with an Iron Chef who has no talent or charisma compared to Chef Robert. They showed one episode and I almost vomited.

They wanted to increase their market share in a poorly performing area since At Home with the Neelys was not doing as well as they liked. They kept Aaron on the show weeks past the time he should have went home, gave him a gimme commercial in Vegas and kept him on to the finale where he made a dish from Friday's. Lisa never had a chance, and right now neither does the Food Network of me ever watching a show there.
I saw Aarons first show, they tried to make it cutesy to appeal to a larger audience, but it bombed.
