Falling in love is, in some ways, indistinguishable from a severe pathology. Is love addictive? Is love like abusing a drug??

THE PATHOLOGY OF LOVE

By Sam Vaknin
Author of "Malignant Self Love - Narcissism Revisited"

Behavior changes caused by falling in love are reminiscent of psychosis and, biochemically speaking, passionate love closely imitates substance abuse. Appearing in the BBC series Body Hits on December...

I'm so excited!! One of my good friends, Desiree, is coming down from LA to visit and we're gonna party it up like old times!! Mix together hot outfits + hot makeup + shots of vodka = SEXY DRUNK CHICKS!! We're gonna hit PB probably and create a raucous at one of the bars... I'm sure you'd find us humping some hot guy's leg or...

Yay, the cat came back! I've never lost my own kitty, but I did lose a friend's when I was cat-sitting.... what a relief it is to find what was lost. surreal

1. I just came home from visiting my family in Orange County, and my roommate tells me that my kitty Zoe ran outside last night and still hasn't come back!!! I let him go outside to explore often, and he always comes back within the same day. He usually stays around the courtyard area and doesn't wander off too far... This is the first time...

Congratulations, young lady. I'm very proud of you.

Are you leaving town now, or staying in San Diego?

Do you live in OB?

NO shit. The divisive politics of hatred and discrimination were the key to winning. But you have to admit-- the Dems just bent over again and took it up the wazoo. (Contrary to the beliefs of the moderates, I'm of the mind that as long as they keep trying to look like Republicans, keep propping up dull, middle-ground candidates, they will lose.)

When you're up against evil genuises like Rove, though, it's going to be tough, anyway. They've actually somehow made it more fashionable for young people to support the GOP than the Dems. More enrolled college students voted Republican than Democrat during the last election. HOw did this happen? American Indians are even supporting right-wing tickets. I can't believe it. (did you hear about Russel Means ( http://www.russellmeans.com/index.htm )supporting John Thune in So. Dakota? ( http://indianz.com/News/archives/003613.asp ) What the fuck is that about? I saw him in the airport and asked/confronted him about it. He wouldn't talk to me.)

I mean, Americans gave them Congress and they gave these scumbags four more years and now they basically will lock up the Supreme Court with Nazis like Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia-- lifelong appointments. We're fucked for a long time, and we gave it away ourselves!

Thanks for the chat. Have a good weekend.

WHeWWWW!!! Done with FINALS. HOORAY. **smokes a bowl in celebration** biggrin biggrin biggrin I'm graduating on Saturday!! Well, technically... I still have a dumb computer programming class to take over the summer... but let's forget about that - let's pretend that I'm officially done with UCSD! Oh, the nights I've crammed a quarter's worth of information into my head for an exam and all the kRaZY memories I've...

Hey, congratulations.

UCSD is a nice place to go to school... wait, unless I'm thinking of SDSU. Is there such a place? I'm thinking of the one near La Jolla, just up from Black's Beach. Which one is that?

The article on sexual orientation is great. I'm still reading it, in fact. Sorry I haven't gotten back in so long. The usage of the word "choice" in regard to the subject always pissed me off. I remember thinking during the last election, that John Kerry could have really drilled Bush at a certain point by asking him "at what point did you choose?" But of course, he missed the opportunity.
Anyway, still reading, as I'm in my office and need to catch up during intervals-- we're very busy. Just wanted to say hi while you're online right now.

I wish I was in San Diego right now. Have not been there in quite a while. Where will you go to celebrate?

Interesting article regarding choice in sexual orientation:

Choice in Sexual Orientation: The Sword that Cuts Both Ways
by Patricia Nell Warren

"Choice" -- and how both gay and religious leaders perceive it -- is a key word in today's noisy national debate about gay rights. The issue focuses on the APA's quandary on how it can offer "reparative" therapy to gay people without seeming to...

I went with a friend to the Museum of the Living Artist yesterday at Balboa Park and the exhibits were just lovely. Some were definitely better than others (especially this one abstract piece made out of plywood - it blew me away), but they were all pretty impressive. I adore modern art. I love having artist friends to go to art museums with... I love...
