Not only is he still here, all you need to do is think of him and he can come to you. Some spirits don't have the energy to manifest themselves for you to know they are there. But, usually you can sense when they are around. Another good thing to do is right before you go to sleep, openly invite your grampa to come to you in your dreams. Spirits that have crossed over are allowed to visit us in our dreams and though you may not remember it in detail, you may remember some of what you dream about.
I really wish I could come visit, cause I'd totally bring all of my TAPS equipment and investigate your mum's house for you and see if I could catch anything on video or audio. Good luck, sweets.
